WhatTheChatechuman? Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Raised and baptized in the Quaker/Nazarene/FMethodist Faith. I decided to convert to Catholicism last Spring. Have been attending Mass since then. Have been attending RCIA since Sept. The point has been raised a few times that as a candidate and being so "churched" that I may join before the Easter Vigil. At what times of the year would one be welcome to join? Can it be anytime or is there a specfic schedule? I had heard Advent at one point. Any insight here? Thank you.
cappie Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Here in Australia in this parish I receive people into the church when they and their catechists, sponsors and candidate agree with me that the person is ready. I don't believe that everyone is the same. It make take different times for different people. This Sunday we are baptising 4 young people who have been prepared over the past 5 month at school they range in ages from 14-18. They are prepared and so I don't see the use of delaying. You need to talk to your pastor
