p0lar_bear Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Does anyone know if Scientologists believe in reincarnation? I don't think they believe in straight reincarnation (one soul being reborn into another body), but I was wondering if a human spirit becomes a body thetan after it dies, or are human souls not eternal like the alien ones?... There's a sentence I never expected to have to write.
p0lar_bear Posted November 12, 2005 Author Posted November 12, 2005 You guys are no help! Here I am, trying to be lazy, and you make me look it up on my own anyway. : In case anyone cares, Scientology doesn't appear to really know whether they believe in reincarnation...
Reincarnation is a definite system and is not part of Scientology. It is a fact that unless one begins to handle aberrations built up in past lives, he doesn’t progress. The common definition of reincarnation has been altered from its original meaning. The word has come to mean “to be born again in different life forms” whereas its actual definition is “to be born again into the flesh or into another body.” Scientology ascribes to this latter, original definition of reincarnation. Today in Scientology, many people have certainty that they have lived lives prior to their current one. These are referred to as past lives, not as reincarnation. Past lives is not a dogma in Scientology, but generally Scientologists, during their auditing, experience a past life and then know for themselves that they have lived before. To believe one had a physical or other existence prior to the identity of the current body is not a new concept — but it is an exciting one. In Scientology, you are given the tools to handle upsets and aberrations from past lives that adversely affect you in present time, thus freeing you to live a much happier life.
(from http://www.scientology.org/en_US/religion/...hism/pg011.html, hopefully they won't try to sue me for using that....) The don't believe in reincarnation, but they have past lives? Some things indicate that the human soul (thetan) is immortal and moves on to other bodies after it's body dies (the body being merely a shell). However, from what I understand of Scientology, it doesn't seem clear whether there is only one human thetan in each body or if a human thetan acts just like the alien ones, becoming secondary inhabitants of a body inhabited by a dominant human thetan. I think it's one of those, "believe what you want" things....not official, but not discouraged... Scientology is more than a little looney
phatcatholic Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 yea, from you provided, it seems that reincarnation is not an official belief of scientology, but many scientologists believe in it.
p0lar_bear Posted November 13, 2005 Author Posted November 13, 2005 Perhaps the distinction they are trying to make is how one is reincarnated...a human thetan can be reincarnated as a human, but not as an animal...
PadreSantiago Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 hey yo friends I can help I used to be a scienctolgist! That is until they took me for every cent I ever had and blackmailed me! You see scientology is actually a cult. They would make me look into someone elses eyes for an hour straight until i started hallucinating and then made me go buy more of their "programs" and sign a 10.000 year contract! The whole auditing to get body thetans out of your body thing is actually just a ruse to collect all of your most inner secrets so if you ever betray the scientologists they can blackmail you and ruin your life. Make no mistake friends scientology is dangerous; it's fictional. The creator L. Ron Hubbard was a science fiction writer, he was only in it for the money. So seriously everyone be careful these people are evil. http://www.xenu.net/ if you go here you can find all about it.
phatcatholic Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 woh thanks for the info. i'm glad ur back home

Just had a specific question on it.
Guest Rick777 Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Its so sad that people are getting sucked into that cult because of the hype and celebrities...hopefully it will soon end.
phatcatholic Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 yea.................poor katie holmes.........
PadreSantiago Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 exactly Rick777! The celebrities get treated like...well celebrities. And everyone else, dirt. They will send you to camps where you can't talk to anyone and you are basically slave labor, and they lock you in rooms for hours on end as punishment. They do this to kids as well. It's so sad I tried fighting them but they are so rich and I am so poor. =( I had to relocate to get away from them. I urge you all to watch out for your friends and family being sucked in to their blackhole of evil.
Guest Rick777 Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Wow thats crazy, i saw an interview on tv with john travoltas wife and she was getting freaky confrontational about it, i was like wow poor woman thats sad, I wonder what anyone could possibly find appealing about scientology?

That is true. But happens not just with Scientology. It also happened when Richard Gere said he converted to Buddhism and other celebrities were following that Indian guy who used to say he is Jesus and could heal people. Can't remember his name though.
