beautyforashes Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 i'm getting so excited about joining the Church! i've been in RCIA since sept. and i've already learned so much. i went through the Rite of Welcome this past Sunday( i was so nervous that i thought my legs were gunna buckle from under me : ) but... last time i met with the Dir. of Religious Ed. at my parish she told me she didn't think I would be ready to come into the Church this Easter. it made me a little sad because i was really looking forward to being fully initiated into the Church. i understood that coming into the Church is a process that takes a while, but i'm a little impatient. i really thought i would be ready because i came from a very strong faith background before, and i already felt like i had a close relationship with God. maybe this is God's way of teaching me patience. but its hard, and a little frustrating. please pray for me. pray that God will give me patience and help me to seek wisdom. thank ya'll so much! i really appreciate this forum!
Guest Rick777 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Well, first of all congrats for making the move, second yes maybe He is trying to teach you how to be patient. Study Hard!!!God Bless!!!
Dreamweaver Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Heh, it took me a while to enter the Church also (I joined in 2002 I believe, its been a few years!). The gears really got kicked into motion a week after Easter, and I first talked to a priest during a spring ice cream social. I think in someways I was good that it took me a while. I definately had a while to learn more about the Church, the sacraments and traditions before fully entering in communion. Heh, learning patience is still something I struggle with. Hold tight, don't despair! Use it as time to learn before "the big final" (so to speak).
