Just remember this basic outline and you will be fine

204. According to IG 70, "As a rule the sequence of intentions is to be:?a. for the needs of the Church;?b. for public authorities and the salvation of the whole world;?c. for those oppressed by any need;?d. for the local community.?In particular celebrations, such as confirmations, marriages, or funerals, the series of intercessions may refer more specifically to the occasion.

BTW, if it gets a little too overwhelming for you and you want some for the Pope, gov't officials, or general ones for victims of natural distasters, since I do the Intercessions for my parish, I can give you some. Just let me know.

God Bless

well, i found this site that says to read through the readings and pick out poetic phrases, metaphors, commands, actions that God has done/is doing/or will do that speak to me.

so far i have:

tested by fire
you rejoice
give thanks
you will have treasure in heaven
come, follow me
all things are possible for God
suffer through various trials
his great mercy
resurrection
joy/rejoice
inheritance
covenant
Kingdom of God
salvation

now i'm trying to translate those into petitions!

One of our priests just makes it up!

maybe i should start writing intercessions... hm....

have you seen those Magnificat booklets? They have intercessions for every day of the year! Another one of our priests just uses Magnificat for the intercessions.

Wow, that is a good idea. I suppose I do a little of that when I write homilies, but now I know what I am doing...really cool.

Thanks

BTW, if you need any help, let me know

(Just cause I'm considering the Marians of the Immaculate Conception)

For an increase in devotion to the rosary of the Blessed Mother and for the spread of devotion to the Divine Mercy, that through these prayers of the Church, Our blessed mother will interced on our behalf, and Christ will exhibit his mercy upon our nation which is straying from Christ.

We pray for the salvation of the entire world, especially for those who have not felt the love of God.

We pray especially for those who are lonley, homeless, sick, oppresed, that as they are tested through these difficult trials they may come to an understanding of why God is putting them to this trial, that through the guidance of the Holy Ghost they may see Christ's Light.

We rejoice and give you thanks Lord for all those who have passed on from this life, we pray especially for __________ who we remember in a special way at this mass, that they are sharing in Christ's resurrection and their inheritence in heaven.
