BC4Life Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 i take health in school (one helluva a liberal school... and im one helluva conservative), and i knew from the very beginning that one day, the teacher would be teaching us things that im completly against. well today, the teacher started (and my God how the freshman are immature) and she handed out index cards and said "put a question on this and put it in the question box.. remain annyonomous please" well i was the only one to actually write a question and put it in the box, so tommorow it will be discussed. the question i put was: ABORTION How is it NOT homocide? now my class is very ... immature and... stupid. so tonight i am going to a lot of anti-abortion abortion sites (AbortionNo.org, TheCauseUsa.com, Bound4Life.com) and getting ready for the argument that the one person in the class will ask me which will make the class go "OHHHHHH!!!!" and think that he/she shut me up: "what if a straight A student athlete captain of the soccer team gets raped?" so im pretty much preparing for all the carp im goin to get. so wish me luck tommorow!

prose Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Try going to some pro-life sites to see arguments... Then you can rebuttal anything that comes up. Here is a great site of resources: http://www.abortiontv.com/Lies%20&%20Myths...ToProChoice.htm This is a great book by the way: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...933534?v=glance
jiyoung Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 As far as that argument goes...you can't punish a child for his/her father's crimes. Would it be fair to throw me in jail because my dad robbed a store? How would it be fair to kill me for my dad's crimes, then? They just have to depart from this made-up distinction between unborn humans and born humans.

Maybe in some non-Christian religions like conservative Judaism and Islam, maybe Mormonism. I'm pretty sure it's not Hinduism...
benedictaj Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 If it isn't TOOOOOOO late, I was reading a story about a girl whose mother was raped, and she kept the baby, the mum now does inspirational talks and stuff, as does the daughter. The mother always says that her baby (the girl) was the silver lining to that dark cloud. I can have a look for it again if you like...
