Clinton also stated that, while other countries also had weapons of mass destruction, Hussein is in a different category because he has used such weapons against his own people and against his neighbors. ardillacid Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Lol, I just love pointing this out to libs.
PadreSantiago Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 (edited) yeah except that clinton never invaded iraq, people aren't dieing right now because of him. It's not a laughing matter friend. The worst Clinton did was lie about getting a bj. bush has turned a record surplus into a record deficit in record time. Bush has borrowed more money from other countries in the past 4 years than the last 42 presidents combined. It's a sad sad era in the united states of america. jiyoung Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 An economy ebbs and flows though, doesn't it? So you wouldn't be able to say that Clinton was completely responsible for the surplus, nor was Bush completely responsible for the deficit. It was just time for it to dip. He's just pointing out, though, that people have been insisting that Bush and his administration made up the whole thing about WMDs, but this disproves that--at least saying that it wasn't a made-up lie to go into Iraq, and he wasn't the only one who thought this.

Exactly… Bush agreed with Clinton… saw the enemy for what he was and acted on the same intelligence that everyone saw --- in our government and governments abroad My favorite lie is the “Saddam never had WMD’s” one Every one saw them – every saw him use them – we uncovered mass graves of the victims of his WMD’s We didn’t find them… so he NEVER had them? Um, we uncovered 20+ French military aircraft at the Baghdad airport that were under the sand but ready to go… (Thank God we were fast enough) Now if the French could hide their clues of a vested financial interest in Iraq – as an example … How stupid would it be to say we couldn’t find em right now ther3e fore they never existed?

Yeah but the scary thing is how fast bush turned it all around Bush has been doing things to make the economy dip. Like giving tax breaks to rich people or not letting us import prescription medicine from other countries at a much cheaper price. America these days is all about giving breaks to the corporations while keeping the little man down. Now about the intelligence well maybe if we weren't spending 250 million dollars on a road to bfe in alaska we could get better intel. And what about the The Downing Street Memos http://www.downingstreetmemo.com/whycare.html Here it shows you how bush was lieing to the public while plotting other things secretly. He lies to america. He also lied about the connection between 911 and Iraq. there's no connection. Also america gave those weapons to saddam, just like america helped osoma bin laden in the 80s fight the russians. Edited November 17, 2005 by PadreSantiago
Lounge Daddy Posted November 17, 2005 Author Posted November 17, 2005 and on top of it - in Al Gore's words Bush "lied to us - he played on our fears" Gore was part of the Clinton administrations was he not?

Guest Rick777 Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 why are you trying to bring down clinton and gore whats over is over we have to focus on the fact that were now in a war that is totally different from what anyone imagined, and if we want to dwell on the past i dont recall any wars during the clinton years but i do remember a lot of corrupt politicians trying to impeach a president claiming immorality what they wante was power now they got it and look at us now. I bet Bush Sr. is real proud

YUPPPP that about sums it up I agree with you totally
PadreSantiago Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 (edited) what about the famous "bring them on" yeah good idea Dubya lets antagonize our enemies and give them more reason to hate us. And yea he never was going to get osoma bin laden that doesn't fit his political agenda. I mean S**** if he captured Osoma he wouldn't be able to invade Iraq, since the other half of the argument of invasion was because there was a connection between iraq and 911. Bush is evil Edited November 17, 2005 by PadreSantiago
Guest Rick777 Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 All hes doing is what everyones telling him to do, I really feel bad for him because he has become a puppet , the best 2 things he's done in his presidency was nominate john roberts and this new alito guy, hopefully God willing they are conservative God fearing men.
Lounge Daddy Posted November 17, 2005 Author Posted November 17, 2005
I passed a television at the gym yesterday, and it was showing a familiar scene: A crowd of Arabs dancing, chanting, and waving flags for the camera. Stereotypically, of course, those kinds of Arab crowds are celebrating something awful: A terrorist attack, the downing of a plane, whatever. But this time, they were celebrating democracy. And it occurred to me that the "root cause" crowd ought to be celebrating along with them. After all, we've heard for decades that Arab terrorism resulted from Arab despotism, and that if we wanted to end terrorism we ought to quit supporting Arab despots and work for democracy. But it was all talk until one brave man in the White House stood up for Iraqi freedom. That man was Bill Clinton, who signed the Iraq Liberation Act back in 1998. That Act called for "regime change," and the replacement of Saddam with a democratically elected government. And that's what we're about to get! Nor was Clinton alone. As Al Gore observed: Even if we give first priority to the destruction of terrorist networks, and even if we succeed, there are still governments that could bring us great harm. And there is a clear case that one of these governments in particular represents a virulent threat in a class by itself: Iraq. As far as I am concerned, a final reckoning with that government should be on the table. To my way of thinking, the real question is not the principle of the thing, but of making sure that this time we will finish the matter on our terms. But finishing it on our terms means more than a change of regime in Iraq. Gore said we need to stand up for democracy. And we have. Only Al Gore isn't saying much now. What's hard to understand is why so many Democrats -- including big-name Democrats like Ted Kennedy and John Kerry -- have taken such a different stance today. Kennedy declared the war lost and the elections a failure just last week. Kerry was churlish and negative on Meet the Press yesterday. Mickey Kaus blames the Internet for this attitude, and there may be something to that. Jim Geraghty thinks it's the 2008 primaries already. But I don't think either of these explanations hits the mark. I think it's jealousy. Bush-hatred has become all-consuming among a large section of the Democratic Party, and they can't stand the thought of anything that reflects well on him, even if it's good for the country, and if it's something that was their idea originally. The question is whether the Democratic Party -- which ought to be cheering events that vindicate Clinton's policies -- will do itself fatal damage by giving in to envy. Such small-mindedness doesn't suggest a party that's ready to govern.
MSNBC article HERE (January 31, 2005)
Lounge Daddy Posted November 17, 2005 Author Posted November 17, 2005 btw - President HW Bush - Pres Clinton - and President GW Bush all saw Iraq leadership as evil... read The Iraq Liberation Act put forth by Clinton near the end of his run
Guest Rick777 Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 lol I agree there are some people out there who love to hate Bush...but I'm not one of them. I would love in fact I pray that I could applaud Bush on something great that hes done, but I have at least til this point not seen anything great in fact ive seen dissapointment after dissapointment. It's awful that our country is so split but thats reality.
Guest Rick777 Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Look, if Pres. Bush wanted to take Saddam out of power than he should of notified Americans that was on his mind. Most Americans viewed this war as going after Osama Bin Laden/Taliban who may have been in Iraq , not taking out that countries leader and revamping thier government. Im not saying that Iraq leadership was totally innocent, they commited horrible atrocities.
