annie Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Yep, Liz got to the bus in plenty of time this morning. For those of you PMers who missed it, I am the 'evil mom' who said, "have a nice bike ride' to her yesterday when she refused to get up on time! It was a COLD ride TO and FROM school!
homeschoolmom Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 This will stick with her for a long time... ... I hope... maybe.... ....we'll see...
Proud2BCatholic139 Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Yeah, I got to school on time everyday this week, and it is freezing COLD!!!!
franciscanheart Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 i knew itd work! haha. good going. ya know yesterday i was thinking about it. i thought this.... you know she might not learn her lesson this time. she certainly had plenty of time on those two rides to get over her anger, frustration, resentment, embarassment, etc. and if she didnt.... well shell have those next couple of times she misses it to get over it. then she can enjoy the warm bus again. but it looks like i was right. those two trips were more than enough time.
sweetpea316 Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Heh... go figure. In the words of the awesome show Boy Meets World..."Life's tough...get a helmet!" A bike helmet maybe...
sweetpea316 Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Yes... yes it is. Rather cool, but very sunny!
megrc Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Good for you!!!! I am liking the weather here right now. Cool and sunny!!!! YAY!!!
ForHimAlone Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 I'm glad I get up at 5:00 in the mornings! It was 4 degrees outside when I left for school today. Brrrr!!

"Yeah, mom, I told everyone that you're at least a material heretic today. Hope you're okay with that."
annie Posted November 18, 2005 Author Posted November 18, 2005 um no. legally that would breech confidentiality
photosynthesis Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 yesterday it was cool and crisp... warm enough to walk around without a sweater. but NOW it's 25 degrees and FREEZING! And my building's heater is broken so we don't have any heat I am so cold! Everyone here has is sleeping with 3 pairs of pants on and winter coats... it's like we're camping. This is one of those times that makes me glad I was a Girl Scout for 12 years....
annie Posted November 18, 2005 Author Posted November 18, 2005 Day 2--RAN to the bus after a pleasant 'good morning' at the very last minute. NO sign of her returning having missed the bus.. You know, some people like to JUST make things on time--she is one of them, I am one who considers myself LATE if I am not 5 minutes early for stuff. So....Let her be her, and me be me, and I won't try to make her like me. BUT......if she misses the bus, SHE rides her bike---ALL winter! LIBERATED PARENT!!! But she did miss breakfast.
