Did you know, I found out from a priest, it is a veniel sin to speed, and a mortal sin to go 20 over?

The priest told me that God gave the authority to the police officers to make the law, and we should keep the law like the ten commandments.

That's just one priest's opinion.

Now I agree that it is a mortal sin to recklessly endanger peoples lives, but I disagree with giving it anumber like 20 miles an hour over..... too specif for something that isn't revelation.

I asked him, and he said that was endangering my life, and I was speeding on purpose, so it was a mortal sin.

Well, :idontknow:

I'll ask 5 more priests for their opinions.

I think it depends on the situation.

Well, the way the priest told me was....

It is a sin, to be driving wrecklessly because you are putting your life and others in danger.
Also, if you speed, you are also putting yourself in danger.
If you are speeding on purpose, you are breaking the law that God gave authority to place. (the police)
Also, you are endangering the lives of others on the road.

It is in the ten commandments....thou shall not kill.
