Did you browse the site because of my suggestion or were you aware of it before my post?

Your suggestion. :)

It's amazing that it's free. It reminds me of when Napster first came out, free and legal. I just hope they don't rule this is illegal too.

I'm glad that you like it. What kind of artists or music are you entering in for your radio station? So far, I've been really satisfied because the music that Pandora has selected has been pretty true to my preferences.

the difference is that they pay the ascap/bmi licenses, so artists are getting paid.

I'm mostly listening to hip hop stuff I haven't heard in years. They don't recognize a lot of songs, and even some artists, so you have to be a little tricky in searching to find what you're looking for. It's kind of like doing a google search. But yah, they're usually pretty good about finding similar styles.

I have been having a hard time getting the right music. Some songs are good, but some of them are really off, like they aren't even the same style. but I'll figure it out.

Just curious--what stations have you Pandora users created?

I've made a lot of stations, but I wind up deleting a lot of them too.

The two that seem to give me the most consistent songs I like are "Gravity Kills radio" and "Audioslave radio".

I tried adding several groups to one station, and it seemed to go wacky. I don't see how Disturbed + Gravity Kills + Depeche Mode = disco-inspired songs with a female vocalist.

I found one completely new song/artist, followed the link, and bought the iTune. ^_^

Silly, you could just go try it like the rest of us. ;)

It's an automated online music station. You tell it what you like, and it plays similar songs.

Man, everybody is on a ;) rampage today.
That's what I figured, but the only think I could get from this thread is that it's super cool.

I picked out a "Queens of the Stone Age", "ZAO", "Sufjan Stevens" and a "David Crowder Band" station.

And from the Sufjan Stevens, I have discovered the "Half-Handed Clouds", "David Fridlund", "The Creeps", and "Birds of America"

Thank you

Keep in mind that Pandora is a brand new site. I try to give them a bit of slack since the kinks are surely still being worked out.

DAF, have you checked it out yet?

Ooh, David Crowder Band!! Like 'em as well. Olive, have you ever listened to Jeremy Camp? You may enjoy him as well.
