I should become a Police Investigator

Today we didn't have school, so a bunch of us wen to the premeire relase of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

The theatre wasn't even packed in the small town we traveled to. We waited for the doors to open for maybe fifteen minutes. There was one other guy there, he just started talking to us, and out of politeness we talked back.

I locked my keys in my car on accident, so after the movie I went to the local car dealership to have a key made for my car, whereas our group of 10 people went to the mall right next door.

Upon my returnal to the mall after purchasing the key for my car, I found the group, and they told me that the same guy from the movie theatre; that we talked to for fifteen minutes was following them. There were 8 girls in our group, and two guys (myself included)

When I got home, I started to think about how that guy was following us. He told me his first name, and that he lived in this apartment complex. So I searched online with the information I had, and found his name. Then something told me search the Sex Offenders list, so I did. The guy we were talking to, was a sex offender, he then stalked us. I since notified the police in that county and they are handling the situation.

I think I should become a police investigator. What do you think....

(of course whatever God wills I will do.)

Eddie would make a good sitcom star. You could play an ordained crimefighting defense attorney. And like you could have informants in the Legion of Christ, and instead of God talking to you like Joan of Arcadia, St. Norbert comes around and gives you clues. :P:

now THAT would get me to start watching television again!

I am addicted to the sex offender list... I have a little dossier inside my head of all of the people living in my town on the list so that I know to run away when I see them...

It was more of a joke than anything, or are we to dumb to realize that Tink? I was just saying I helped put a sex offender back in jail today, and jokingly said that I should become an investigator. I would never think of becoming an investigator, to much risk.

Man, your the reason why I hate this website sometimes.

i have to agree with tink...

you often post about being a priest or getting married, majoring in this or majoring in that. it changes quite often. the way you wrote "I think I should become a police investigator. What do you think....(of course whatever God wills I will do.)" gives no hint that it was a joke.

Once again it was more of a humour than anything about being a policie investigator.

In my life I've never had a "stable spiritual director" My parish priest tells me to date, to go to a regular college.

My "spiritual director" tells me to go into the seminary.

I've been guided in two seperate directions and now I'm trying to find out which road I should take.

Since all you people (like mrs. I wanted to be a sister and led us to believe she was entering the convent) beleagure me all the time about this, I am thus leaving this site.

I will now be focusing at the Cardinal Ratizinger Forum where I am a moderator.

In his Mercy,

Eddy Joannes

Don't take things so seriously, Eddie. I think Tink was half joking herself.

Don't leave the phorum. :grouphug:

leading you to believe i was going to enter a convent....so what if i did...that was the path i was on for 3 years of my college life and then found it was not where i was supposed to be.....so i should just enter because that is what i said i was going to do?.........that makes no sense. i was discerning it and found out it wasn't for me.....there is nothing wrong with that......at least i was solely focused religious life while i was discerning it, in the mean time going to college for a career that i had decided on back in high school and sticking to it.

Do they put people from the sex offenders list in jail for talking to people at the movies?

The guy was following them too.

To Tink and Andrea:
Eddie's future vocation isn't the topic of this thread. And whether or not he was joking about becoming a police investigator, cut him some slack, for goodness' sakes! It's a rare person indeed who knows for sure what they want to do with their life while they're still in high school. Did y'all know exactly what y'all wanted to do while in high school?

Thank and praise God that he and his friends are safe, as that's the point of this thread! It's not to badger him about whatever he's leaning toward vocation-wise.

Gabriel Syme is a cool police investigator. You need to be lucky like him and run into a recruiting anti-anarchist philosopher cop

I think Tink was joking too. Let's be civil to one another. It's hard to pick up subtleties and nuances in what a person says on a message board. People often write things without thinking and misunderstandings happen.

I'm sorry if you feel this way. It is true that it seems like every day, you are discerning a different vocation... marriage, Legion of Christ, marians of the immaculate conception, law school, etc etc etc... I think some phatmassers have trouble taking it seriously because every day it changes. But I'm sure it can't be easy for you either, and maybe people on this board need to be a bit more understanding of that. Sometimes God just calls us to be patient and focus on holiness. My friend Sister Mary Bethany (from the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecelia) wrote this to me in a letter:

"One piece of discernment advice for you: Say YES with all your heart and soul and mind and strength to WHATEVER it is that He is asking you to do with your life BEFORE (that is the key word) He even tells you what it is. ... Once you've agreed, He's more likely to reveal His will in clarity and depth and the way becomes easy because you have already made an act of trust in His awesome Divine Providence. Know that HE alone, no matter what vocation you are called to, can truly satisfy your hunger for love."
