homeschoolmom Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 I read in the paper a little while back that our cable company was going to add EWTN on channel 98. Well, we get the minimum basic cable-- channels 2-24. So I didn't think anything of it. But a friend at church told me I should try it... so... I punched it in on a lark... and we get it. So, we get channels 2-24... and 98 (which is EWTN) I checked all the channels in between... nothing. Oddly, my mom gets EWTN and she doesn't get cable at all... it's just up there like 54 or something... But she'd never watch "that Catholic channel."
Era Might Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 (edited) We only get EWTN on a limited basis. The channel is shared with INSP (Protestant) and BCTV (Boston Catholic Television). We get the 8:00 shows every night though, and morning and midnight Mass, so it works out pretty good. I just watch it online any other time. Edited November 21, 2005 by Era Might
Era Might Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 INSP used to show a Christian movie every Saturday at 11. Most of it was cheesy but I liked them, lol. They don't show it any more though.
homeschoolmom Posted November 21, 2005 Author Posted November 21, 2005 They also have the Mass from St. Anne's Basilica in Scranton, PA
missionseeker Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 We don't don't have EWTN. but we are three and a half hours away from the studios.
homeschoolmom Posted November 21, 2005 Author Posted November 21, 2005 Try channel 98... you might...

missionseeker Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 The Shrine is defintely great. And the gift shop is pretty cool as well (for those who haven't seen it It's modeled after midieval castels. The doors are like 25 feet high. and they have statues about 10-15 feet high of saints I think it is St. Joan of Arc and St. Micheal, but I'm not sure if I remember right.
homeschoolmom Posted November 21, 2005 Author Posted November 21, 2005 Aw... now HSdad is sleeping on the couch in front of "Life on the Rock"...
Sojourner Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 When I moved, my housemate gets better cable than I used to, and now we get EWTN. But she's not too into it, so I don't get to watch often.
homeschoolmom Posted November 21, 2005 Author Posted November 21, 2005 We'd watch when we stayed in hotels... "Shhhh... honey... not so loud... the neighbors will hear us." "Don't worry, dear. It's okay. Watching 'Life is Worth Living' is something married couples do."
scardella Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 I never could really get used to watching EWTN... I just wish they had a few decent fictional shows. In exile, I could get EWTN radio, and I liked to listen to Catholic Answers on that. I'm just having trouble w/ these talk shows that seem like they are more appropriate for radio...
qfnol31 Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Did you see daily Mass for yesterday? (the 20th)
DAF Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 I don't get it here in denver. at least not on cable, and if we do, i can't find it And we don't get an EWTN radio station either! Hmph. if anybody can find out if EWTN is on in denver, tv and/or radio, i would be eternally grateful!
