Rammstein's new album

Let's just say I was... surprised by how it turned out. Most of the songs are just really depressing; one about a guy who fetches a rose for his love, and falls off a cliff in the process. Another about a mob cheering for a man to jump off a bridge, and he gets pushed off. A song called "Don't die before I do", which is quite beautiful.

Not as good as their previous ones, for sure, but I still can't stop listening to it.

I'm not too knowledgeable about the band, but I've always liked what I've heard from them.

I don't know if you're aware of this or not, but there's a video circulating on the web of these guys live in concert...Midway through a song, the lead singer pulls down his pants and literally has anal sex with the male bassist....on stage.

Now I know several news agencies have it listed as "stimulated"...but don't believe the hype...I saw the beginning of the video on some E&N website and got about 5 seconds in before I realized what was happening, nearly puked and turned it off...

be aware...

I used to listen to some of their stuff, until i heard the translations to English!

After a couple looks into the CD cover, it was enough to turn me off. Of course I started listening to this as well as Marylin Manson, during early high school before I was really hardcore Catholic.

After I made that decision I through all of those CDs out.

wouldn't that seriously inhibit playing the bass?

Rammstein is great (maybe not their message or the way in which it is presented, though). I don't speak German and I don't have much of a desire to learn the translations of their lyrics. I know some of it seems pretty bad. But the music is GREAT! And as Catholics, we can appreciate art for art's sake, and the beauty of anyone and anything. We obviously take issue with any objective falsehoods or evils, but we can still appreciate the ways in which even the falsehoods or evils are expressed, if that makes any sense. Both JP2 and B16 advocate this position in their writings...

So the new CD isn't as good, huh? That smells of elderberries...my favorite is Mutter. Reise Reise had some good songs on it, though.

P.S. - Though I have no idea what "Mutter"'s lyrics translate to, for some reason it translates in my head as being against abortion. Don't ask me!
