Buying power is what matters. I don't think the comparison takes that into account at all.

I type this, sitting in a suburb where the average piece of junk 2BR 50s ranch house is going for $450k. Or, perhaps not going, as the bubble may be bursting. Hm, wandering off topic now.

(Of course, I'm not stupid enough to live here; I'm just visiting. Gee, am I cranky lately?)

I think that is great for you!! There is nothing wrong with earning good money, ESPECIALLY if you earned it! I think there are too many people who are charitable and kind and yet they feel guilty for no reason.

I don't want to post mine b/c I don't think it is anyone's business (no offense)

But I wonder if it took into account my DEBT how much I would be. I made a lot of financial mistakes in the past that I am paying for now....

It's the beginning of a song by the Beatles called, "Baby you're a rich man." The chorus goes "Baby you're a rich man too." The Beatles were like uber rich and when I hear the song I think they must have been singing it for their society friends, because it's not about me!

Am I the only one who's heard that song? What are they teaching you kids in school nowadays anyway? :

But that never takes into account medical expenses. There are families who make less than my dad who actually have gone on vacations. I know I'm sounding the opposite of a lot of this on the thread, but that is something that I've noticed.
