Just deny yourself, take up your cross and follow Jesus. He let's us feel this way because He loves us so very much. Just like Jesus, we have to take up our cross too, and we have to set them free. God answers, just give it time. As the old saying goes... "Good things come to those who wait." Offer up your pain and suffering to the poor souls in purgatory. They need our prayers. Also, they can pray for us. Keep praying to the saints for help. Just remember, your reward will be great in Heaven. Don't give up.

Feel blessed that God feels that you are worthy to suffer no only for the betterment of yourself, but for the betterment of His Church. Also, as practical advice, I find that many people who feel down and "depressed" feel that way because they focus on it. Forget that you think you're depressed, and a good percentage of the time, it will go away. Focus on God, not on your sadness, whatever may be causing it. in Christ

Excelsior1027 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 (edited) All that I can say is...offer it up to Jesus. Even if He doesn't give you an answer right away, it doesn't mean He didn't hear your prayers. Jesus never forsakes us. Yes, at times He withdraws His comfort from us, but that doesn't mean that He doesn't love us. Just keep praying, keep having faith, and above all, trust in Jesus!!! BC4Life Posted November 27, 2005 Author Posted November 27, 2005 when you guys say "offer it up" what do ya mean by that?
Excelsior1027 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 (edited)
when you guys say "offer it up" what do ya mean by that?
When we say "offer it up", we mean offer it up to Jesus, as in just give it to Him. Anything that hurts, that troubles you, just place it in trust at Jesus feet, pray about it, and just trust in Jesus that He knows what's best for you and that He'll make everything work out the right way in the end. You have to trust in Him that He's taking care of you and that everything is in His control. If you really offer everything up, if you give yourself to Jesus, than you don't have anything to fear, because He'll always be taking care of you. Hope this is being of some help! tojo Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 In just a few hours.....first Mass of Advent.........
zabbazooey Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 I went to the Advent Mass already. It was sooo awesome!!!
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 i went to 2 advent masses!
BC4Life Posted November 28, 2005 Author Posted November 28, 2005 i had mass today, but the childrens quior (sp? the singing people) made it seem like hell, no offense to them in seriousness, thanx for the advice... maybe i should just start letting the pain hurt itself away rather than thinking about it every single moment. but its hard!
tojo Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 It's spelled "choir." And btw, the Mass was wonderful.
missionseeker Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 St. Therese of Lisieux described it like this.
... I had been offering myself to Jesus as a plaything, telling Him not to treat me as the sort of expensive toy that children only look at, without daring to touch. I wanted Him to treat me like a ball, so valueless that it can be thrown on the ground, kicked about, pierced and left lying in the corner, or pressed closed to His Heart if He wants. In other words, I wished only to amuse the Child Jesus and let him do with me exactly as He liked. Jesus had heard me, and in Rome He peirced His little plaything, because He wanted, I expect, to see what was inside; then, satisfied with what He had found, He dropped His little ball and fell asleep. What did He dream about? What happened to the abandonned little ball? Jesus dreamed that He was still playing, that he kept picking up His little ball and throwing it down again, that He rolled it far from Him but, in the end, held it close to His Heart, never to let it slip from His Hands again. You can guess how sad the little ball was, left lying on the ground, though it went on hoping against hope.
I don't know if that helps with anything at all, but I hope it helps.
Proud2BCatholic139 Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I love Advent. Mass was beautiful today.
