Background: Last year this particular parish's pastor ran off with the youth director. So the bishop sent in another preist that everyone loves and he's really great. And at this parish at the end of Mass (this is a little too kooky for me ) they have a "good news" time where anyone who has good news stands up and shares it.

Story:

One Sunday, a guy stands up and says "I got married this weekend" and and the other people with "good news" say theirs. and right before the finla blessing, Father stands up says (without really thinking about it) "well, my good news is that I didn't get married this weekend"

There was a moment of silence before everyone burst out laughing (with releif too, I am sure) as they realized that Yes (thank God) he was making a joke.
Then Father's face turned red as he realized oops....
