But how many stories have I heard about straight older men teachers abusing, seducing, and raping young girls? I've heard more of those stories than ones about Catholic priests molesting young children, and it's not just in the Catholic Church. A couple years ago, my grandma told me how she read in the paper about how there was a pretty bad sexual abuse scandal in the Lutheran Church, a church which does allow for married ministers. Let's face it, any man or woman can be an abuser and from stories I've seen on Forensic Files, Oprah, Seventeen, and on the News, not only ppl who vow to stay celibate are going to be abusers. Btw, can we please get back to the topic at hand and give keighters some advice? I say pray for him and tell him to talk to a priest, and please let's keep it charitable and clean up the language! this is a Catholic phorum after all

I never said that the abused children should be left unprotected. The priest who abuse should be punished, not all for the sins of one. You say you don't understand out religion and dont care to, why come here and "rile us up"? Why not just leave us in our "religious bubble" as you children of the 18th century Enlightenment call claim. Jesus tells us to love one another, and thats exactly what I plan to do. Thank you.

But I really don't see why your so adamant upon hating the whole Church because of it. Why do want to rile us up? You just told us to be good to all the people we meet on the street. Would you please do the same? I hope you understand that I agree that pedophilia is terrible. But you aren't attacking pedophiles. You are attacking my Church, whom I love dearly. That's incredibly hurtful. I will be praying for you. Particularly about whatever is angering you. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that it is our hope to right that wrong, and to help you see that the sins of individuals does not mean the Church is terrible.
