JP2Iloveyou
I just saw this, and no I haven't read the entire thread, but I agree that Minnesotans are among the worst drivers in the world. The things I have seen done in Minnesota: 1) Two sports cars racing each other on I-90 came up so fast on a car in front of them that they had to pass on the MEDIAN. 2) A guy driving along I-35 missed his exit, so what does he do? He simply drives OVER the grass embankment separating the off ramp from the freeway. 3) Along I-94 one day I saw a guy overshoot his exit and BACK UP a good 1/4 mile in a driving snowstorm that was so bad they actually closed the freeway not long after. 4) Many, many incidents of people driving in the left-hand lane. The left-hand lane is for passing, not driving there for as long as you darn well please. 5) Finally, many, many incidents of people hanging in the left-hand lane either right next to the car they are trying to pass or sitting right in the guy's blind spot. Either get around him or get out of that lane so other people can get by!

Though it still doesn't sound as bad as around Chicago.
DancesforLove
LoL, they do that everywhere lol. I think people have like a radar for when you're running late because suddenly everyone slows down to about 35 as soon as you need to get somewhere lol. Sojourner
I believe I have singlehandedly increased the average highway speed in Minnesota since I moved here.
Dreamweaver
Even though I live in Nord Dakota, I confess that I drive like a maniac sometimes. Its not my fault! If I let off the gas for too long, my car's engine dies. (There's a crack in the carburator, and the patch is leaking). You should see me zip around cloverleaf onramps! One day I'll be skidding right into the curb. I'm not looking forward to crappy snowy/icy roads where people drive slooowwwwlyyyy. At least you Minnesotans have salted roads! XIX
Theoretically, doing 60 on the highways is the most fuel efficient speed. Every 5 mph over 60 is like adding 20 cents per gallon.

[/quote] really? I could pretty happily give up driving. If I ever get to be rich and famous, I'm hiring a driver.
