Anyone know of any translations that are translated from the original Hebrew and Greek Scriptures?

Anyone? I have a really interesting story that goes along with this question, but I'd like to focus on finding a few good ones (or at least one!) first.

I need an English one. Well--the person I'd be recommending it to would need an English one, she can't read Latin.

Most modern translations are from the original Hebrew and Greek. The NRSV is one.

it's amazing how many translations there are out there. and it's equally amazing how most of them are a mess.

The Septuagint & Greek NT is the best.

If only I could read Hebrew. :(

Yeah, but I need a SOLID literal translation from the Greek and Hebrew. There's a Bible I found that has both the Greek or Hebrew, it's meaning, and then an English translation. But it's not a Catholic Bible.

Scholarly is more important than poetic.
