Anastasia13 Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 (edited) I have an appointment with a sister at a parish office at 2 pm Pacific tomorrow Dec. 3rd. I want to use this to support a historical argument for a more traditional view of hell. What are some good, relatively objective questions to ask? Edited December 2, 2005 by Light and Truth
phatcatholic Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 How has the Church traditionally understood hell? How has the Church traditionally understood the role of the devil? Who goes to hell? What is hell like? (this may possibly be answered by the first question) Why do we have hell?
Cam42 Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 What are the biblical distinctions? (ie. hell, sheol, limbo, bosom of Abraham, etc....) What was Christ's role in closing the gates of hell? What is meant in the Apostle's Creed, by "He decended into hell?"
phatcatholic Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005
What are the biblical distinctions? (ie. hell, sheol, limbo, bosom of Abraham, etc....)
Gehenna is another one.
Laudate_Dominum Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 I'd say reruns of three's company prove the traditional view of hell. But I admit its somewhat of a subjective argument.
