The mark of the beast

I think that it's possible that the mark of the beast will be some form of device / pill / injection (perhaps of nano-technology) that ends suffering and disease and grants immortality. What could be a more blatent choice of Hell than the desire to never see Heaven and choose earthly delights as your last end? What could be more anti-Christ than to deny the gifts of participation in the Passion of Christ? The most notable part of this theory is that it is possible...scientists are working on it as we speak.

The problem I have with the ID chip is that I think there'd have to be more to it than just being...well... implanted identification. People get thrown into the burning lake forever for accepting that mark!

Merely having an ID that can't easily be removed seems morally neutral on the part of the recipient.

I'm reading a poorly written and published (the pages aren't even square) book that's a "rewrite" of the left behind seris...its a post-trib rapture story (much more in line with the Bible, than that pre-trib nonsence)

Doesn't the bible say that it has to be on your forehead or on your right hand? So even if it is the mark--you're safe.

I beleive that this is going to be a chip implanted in the fore head or hand that will allow the government (as depected as the BEAST above) will mandate, they currently have the technology, it will have all our banking information on it, GPS coordinating system, health care, drivers lisence, pass port info... Just all information about the person that they may use at their free will.

Ideas like this are not new, I bet if the technology was availible the Nazis would have implemented this exact thing. They seem to have done everything but the above.

This government will be quite different than the Nazis it will propbably almost seem as though it is good, and for the good of all people on the outside, deciving many. It seems that the interpetation of the heads of the beast could be of various nations. This perhaps could be like the United Nations but with control over every nation.

I believe it will have its origins in the free mason movement and communism but modified to appear good and appeal to all nations.

What do you guys think about this, what is the Church's teaching on this?
