I was having a discussion with my friend over a few beers about what tattoo I would get if I ever decided to get one.

He has about 15 tats. I said probably something to signify my Catholicism. I'm not really into getting inked up, but it made me wonder, what tattoo would signify that I was a Catholic?

Any ideas, besides getting a giant portrait of JP2 on my back. Something small.

A crucifix like this one:

But I wouldn't get a tattoo. That's just a catholic image i'd recommend.

I've considered getting a tattoo of the Sacred Heart....but I doubt I'll ever actually do it. ;)

Beleive it or not I have given this a lot of thought.

IF I were to get a tattoo. It would be Isaiah 52 : 13-15 through Isaiah 53: 1-12
Not just the index numbers either.....
The whole verse word for word, all the way across my back as much room as it needs. Black ink. Possibly in Hebrew or Latin but only if I am absolutly sure of what it says ( research is very important)

Of course.....

I would probably never get a tattoo anyway because I mean Jews do now get tatooed because if they get a tattoo they can not be buried in a Jewish cemetary...
So if Jesus were alive today and was crucified and buried.
(yeah I know he was only in there a little while and he rose from the dead)
he probably would not have gotten a tattoo because he would not have been able to be buried in a Jewish cemetary.

I mean it would be like he would not be able to get a "hotel tomb room" .

wierd
I think way too much

was Jesus buried in a Jewish cemetary? Would they bury someone they considered a heretic that was worth of being killed in their cemetary? Just a side note on you're stuff...

I always thought it would be cool to get a very small and simple cross either over my heart or my arm. Like you know how in gladiator he has the mark of the roman legions on his arm? but how its really small and not really meant to stand out... Nothin fancy either

Buuuuuuut I highly doubt I'll ever get it done. I hear (from a Dominican friar who has 6) that they're addicting.

I was thinking about this before, I think the two hearts would be cool

Sacred heart of Jesus and Emmaculate Heart of Mary.

I think this would be a great way to show your devotion to both. That you would actually permanitely mark your self for them.

Wow Laura you are quite the artist!

I was thinking about getting a tattoo, because I turn 18 soon, but I'm too chicken. :disguise:

I really have a thing for fish, so a depiction of the trinity with three fish would be awesome.

I find the third one especially cute, the fish are biting eachother's tails!

Nothing.

Tattoos mar the likeness of God who we are created in.

This is a hypothetical, null answers are not accepted.

When I'm back down to my target weight, I was thinking of getting "In Pace Veritas", my personal motto, on my chest. Medications caused me to gain a LOT of weight, so it'll probably be a while.
