If I'm running late to meet someone and they're upset about it, I offer the same excuse each time

we have a friend who is the most non-commital person alive so we will plan stuff and ask him if hes coming and he will be all on board with it

then like a day before we call him to solidify the plans and he all the sudden has a paper to write or metaphysics to study was his latest one.....happens no joke, all the time

hes a seminarian so we always joke that his spiritual director told him that we were heathens trying to prevent him from passing his classes haha

It's better than them standing you up & never giving an excuse at all or never apologizing afterwards.

..and you never know, maybe the IRS came over to your girlfriend's house & were holding her hostage until she finished her taxes. She wasn't *allowed* to say anything, or she'd be guaranteed an audit for the next ten years. You could have been an unfeeling dingleberry.

Of course, she was ugly as all get-out, so you were more than justified in dumping her

I had a friend once say to me, "I can't meet you because I have to go on a trip to Philadelphia."

I let it slide, cuz it was like a several million dollar deal and it was more important than seeing little 'ol me.

But I was still sad :(

I was suuposed to meet with a friend of mine who is a preist and although I know he wasn't making an excuse, but said that his life was running two hours behind. He then explained that he was about an hour late for another appointment he had, and he couldn't miss the rest of it.

The sad part was though that it took me another two weeks to reschedual with him.

God bless-
