Sojourner Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005
I had a Holly Hobbie doll. I still have HH wishing well game, too. The two headed doll thing freaked me out. You mean, it flipped over and the dress covered the other head-- right? I had one of those of Little Red Riding Hood. For the record, my older brother never did anything to my toys. I guess he either loved me too much to do that to me, or he forgot I existed...
Yes, the two-headed doll is as you described. I loved mine, especially the sleeping side. I used to pretend she was dancing with her prince. I'd have kicked the carp out of my brothers if they had messed with my toys. Being an oldest child is so fun ...
jmjtina Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Dave Barry is halirious!!!! Who hasn't mutitaled thier barbies? I would squish in the head of my babies just to see the different kinds of faces they would make and see if I could take off their heads. And I would twirl my rainbow brite by the hair..... Not because i was a sick kid, but because I wanted to see if it would break! Unless your child has a history of violence, I would think they are just young scientists.
p0lar_bear Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 This thread reminded me of a quote from a show I saw: "Didn't you ever break the arm off your GI Joe?" "Yeah, but I did it on purpose. He was a casualty of war."
annie Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 My sister and I used to do 'operations' on our Dawn Dolls (like smaller Barbies)--we figured out a plastic 'bone' was inside the legs, but there were no 'guts' inside the body. Years later I did cadaver dissection in college. As little kids we would take the heads off our baby dolls and bowl with them. Our son, Jesse, would play with the older girls Barbies when he was 3 or 4. It always kept him busy. Then one day I noticed he was taking the heads off and using the body as a golf club, whacking the heads across the room.
Dreamweaver Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 I feel weird, I've never mutilated any of my barbie dolls. Maybe I ripped the head off once or twice just to see what happened, or accidentally. I do remember getting together with my cousins and stripping Barbies and Kens down to their birthday suits... We thought that was kind of clever.
Piccoli Fiori JMJ Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 I onlt cut their hair to give them new fashionable hairstyles, but they never turned out like I had hoped, and nowhere near fashionable. I also liked to put nail polish on just about everything... I would use it as 'make up' on dolls and my little pony's...

I would also bend the knee in the opposite direction that it was supposed to bend!
