Colleen Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Okay, so this year, we've had some particularly crazy squirrels living in our yard. They're really big and fat and scared most of the birds away. They robbed both of the bird feeders (which is probably how they got so fat). Then last week, they chewed through our heavy-duty garbage cans and tore apart our garbage bags. Well, this morning, there was a new surprise. This morning, my little brothers watched (finding it amusing, they felt no need to warn our parents) as some squirrels robbed our snowman of his scarf and took it up to their nest in the pine tree. Now there is a beautiful scarf hanging about 7 feet above the ground from our pine tree. I wish those squirrels would go and hibernate and stop robbing everybody. I mean, they'll stop at nothing. They'll even rob a poor vulnerable snowman.

thessalonian Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Squirells don't hibernate so the only solution as EENS pointed out involves gunpowder.
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 have you ever seen that movie? where the kid asks for the BB gun and he shoots his eye out?
Ash Wednesday Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Where is ardillacid when we need him?

annie Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I got a BB gun for Mother's Day last year for just such a problem. I don't kill with it, but I nail them in the butt and try to TEACH them to stay off the bird feeder, etc. Wow, garbage---sure it is not coons? Those are some bold squirrels. They need a lesson from a Daisy..

a couple years ago i planned on making a squirrel pole which is a pole that you lat up against a tree at angle and the squrilles will run up it and their are little wire nooses to stranggle them. I learned how to make it from an army manual on how to survive if you get left behind after a mission, but the hippy neighbors would not allow it.

Actually, he would probably try to befriend them, rather then frighten them away.
