Well, for their safety, I'd let them play with the nobles over the pillagers...but of course, if they could be martyrs, then I'd go with the vikings...

Maybe I could get a nice little monestary for the vikings to pillage? As it is now, they have to try to take over the castle... and as a hsmom, I'm offended at the historical inaccuracy of that...

Well, they certainly did destroy a great number of monasteries. Maybe they make a little Playmobil Lindisfarne Gospel...

I have a Nunzilla, too--given me by a friend.

Every time I went on vacation, and Sister Helen came over to take care of my cats, I made sure it was well hidden. I didn't want her to take offense, but I didn't want to throw the Nunzilla away or my friend would be insulted.

The great thing about having a nun take care of your cats is that I don't think she goes through drawers, cabinets, etc. She went through formation long before Vatican II, so she doesn't have curiosity about things she shouldn't. (The front of my house, and my comings and goings are fair game because she can clearly see my house from the convent windows.)

I once mentioned the ruler thing to Sister Helen, and she got an embarassed look on her face, and said, "It was another time," and changed the subject.

I find the whole concept of nuns with rulers very strange and kind of apalling. I went to a public school where corporal punishment was not allowed, and a teacher would be fired if he or she hit a student. Then again, my public school had only 18-20 students per class (and no problems at all with student behavior that I remember--Sister Helen wouldn't have needed a ruler at my elementary school), and the classes at the local Catholic school had 50 students! Maybe it took a ruler to keep 50 students in line.

In case anyone cares, I did get rid of the suit I mentioned above-- shortly after this thread, I'm sure.

The knights are still fighting off the vikings... :twitch:
