We had one of those in the school I went to in fifth grade ... you're right about the smell being distinctive.

Old books, new books, and new t-shirts.

I know, I'm weird.

Tink, I love Old Spice too. It always seems wierd to compliment a guy on his deodorant, but whatever.

Hm, what else? Oh yes... gasoline, green tea, steak, burning leaves, photography developing chemicals... (what can I say? I'm silly like that)[/color]

all you need to do is spend a couple of times in the nursery, and you'll find that the kids have an odd odor of soured sweets about them

Many of my friends have agreed that kids smell funny like that...

perhaps you just don't have a very sensitive nose

individually most babies smell delicious... unless theyve recently peed, pooped, or thrown up (which is a lot of the time). together they do tend to reek... but i think this is because with a high number of them in one place the chances of someone having recently peed, pooped, and/or thrown up are greatly increased. older kids have a funny smell when they come inside from recess. i cant stand that smell.
