Stupid Keyboard...

I went home for Christmas...and now my laptop keyboard is missing frequent keystrokes...I have to try really hard and press buttons several times on occasion to get a letter out...this will not work with my papers...

Anyone know what could be wrong or how to fix it?

Sometimes you can get a little schmutz in the keyboard. I do all the time. If anyone in the dorm has a can of air, you could give it a spritz and see if that helps!

I have a can of air if you want it.

One time I was playing with a water balloon while sitting at the computer, I dropped it and some of the water splashed up against the computer when it broke. The screen went all flickery and we had to open it up to let it dry.

My keyboard does it all the time, last week I lost my EEEEEEeeeeeeEEEEEE. Too much dog hair in the keyboard. So even cheapo me had to go out and buy a can of air. Usually some crumbs under there. It really does pay to do preventive maintenance, not that I do.
Good luck!!

try typing with your nose, instead.

What's a can of air?

Turn your lap top upside down and gently and carefully shake.

Also do not eat and type.

Well, if you could blow that hard without spraying spittle all over, you go girl!

Some of us want to clean the lint & dirt off of our delicate electronics without getting saliva all over...

A can of air is just that...a can of pressurized air.

What you probably need to do is get a can of component cleaner. It usually fixes most problems with keyboards.

I'd just take it to the G.E.E.K. Squad.

Anyway, I was going to point out that a German keyboard is almost identical to the American keyboard, but they have the y and the z switched. It is interesting.
