Well Phil is the official groundhog for the nation but many states have their own groundhogs

Except British Columbia that has a chicken and (sadly) Minnesota has a porcupine

My groundhog [Gertrude] says we will have 6 more weeks of mild and wild snowy weather. Of course she says the same thing every year cause I write her byline, as she is actually hibernating under the porch.

Remember it is Candlemas Day, the end of the Christmas season today.

I really admire his understanding of the plight of the groundhog. Some people say they don't even try to get employment, but I think the groundhogs are dealing the best they can with post-traumatic stress disorder and the inherent prejudices of bourgeois capitalism.
