zealousrap Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 I'm not sure if I would be comfortable with just the honor system in place (I apologise if I offended anyone by that)
inDEED Posted March 1, 2006 Author Posted March 1, 2006 Yeah...I hear what you're sayin', bro... But, unfortunately - there's really no other way to determine whether or not one of our members is a man or woman... I'd be up for suggestions, though! Oh, and btw - we need some dope white rappers to hook up with FM.
zealousrap Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 (edited) (I'm rewording this so inDEED understands it as a diss) that's a good idea, mabe this one will join and be the white rapper of the site Edited March 1, 2006 by zealousrap

I guess even if you could get a way to verify someone's gender, you still wouldn't know if someone had been careless with their login and password or forgotten to log out of the site or their e-mail account. Besides, the Internet is a pretty anonymous place and it's not like we're getting together for online Freemason meetings Maybe one nice thing to do would be to allow people to use multiple user names. Some people in online communities get to know each other pretty well and may even know each other offline, but someone may want to discuss something personal while being able to preserve their anonymonity as much as possible.
Lounge Daddy Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 this sounds like a really cool thing and i wil def keep an eye on it i only voted no because i have little time for extra things like this or even the KofC council i am a member of (i haven't attended a mtng in many months shame on me) so i could hardly get into yet another thing that i would drop the ball on but God bless you all on this project

Crispy Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006
Maybe one nice thing to do would be to allow people to use multiple user names.
i think that'd be kinda counterproductive to the whole idea. the point of the online community is so that men can come together, and be such that they wouldnt have a problem talking with other men about spiritual matters, etc. it doesnt mean that you couldnt just keep it between one other person and urself, but i think that this community should be trying to increase the personal connection between men, not avoid it. no need to hold hands and prance through daisies, but we need to not be afraid to help each other with that personal stuff.
morostheos Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 i have a suggestion - maybe have most of the boards only visible to registered users? That could help with the whole men only thing. You could have a couple boards open for all to see so guys could get an idea of what it's like, but keep most of them just for registered users. 'cause lets face it, girls might not register and pretend they're guys, but i bet most will want to check out your website! (at least i know i would)

inDEED Posted March 4, 2006 Author Posted March 4, 2006
Question: Is there an age limitation?
Definitely not! All Catholic men - young AND old are welome!
son_of_angels Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006
Sounds great, but I wonder how you would confirm that the people registering for the site are men. Would honor system be sufficient? Or maybe a simple question, like "What is the best movie of all time?" All men know the answer to that is "The Godfather" ;-)
I'm interested in the group. But, in response to the above question, I'll have you know that the best movie of all time is Lawrence of Arabia, not this "The Godfather" nonsense. Or, perhaps, Passion of the Christ....
