jasJis Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 (edited) Lot's of us live in the South and don't have to live in the snow. My family up north always says 'You miss out on :snowman: " Oh yeah. I want to volunteer my fingers for a wicked PopSicle experiment. Snow is okay to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. What are some of the 'dumb' things that snow people try to tell you (my fellow Sun people) who live in paradise that we are missing about snow? My favorite is Ice Fishing. If I wanted to fish :fisherman: tommorrow, I could go. 65 degress is not too cold. Besides, a straw hat is cheaper and more comfortable than a ski jacket, ski pantaloons, 2 pairs of pantaloons, long underwear, sweater, sweat shirt, flannel shirt, long sleeve tee-shirt, 2 pairs of socks, and mittens. Besides, frozen fish are dangerous. :fishslap: Edited December 17, 2003 by jasJis
CICCIO Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 I think the snow flippin ROCKS...till you hae to go out in it, or shovel it, or get your pantaloons wet, or fishtail-then pull an 180 and end up in the other lane facing the opposite tirection you were headed (actually happened, we just kept drivin the opposite way once we had stablized-we figured 'what the heck, go with the flow) all of which i guess do actually require going out in the snow to do so i dont know why i listed them in the first place. :afro: :wavey: :wavey: :motorcycle: :motorcycle: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: (these things are fun)
Spiritual_Arsonist Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 OK. Here is a perspective from a Northener (Michigan): Snow is cool, dont let it get into your shoes, down your shirt, or in your undies. The weather changes here every 10 minutes, so dress in thin layers. The sun is annoying and I like overcast days.
CICCIO Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 True that! What part of MI do you live in? Where I live in nothern Indiand the weahter is the same, we've been known to experience all 4 seasons in 3 days :)
Donna Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Here's a good one: The snow and deep freeze kills all the pollens and so on. (I miss hopping cars!!!!)

I would live at right bottom of the thumb. Right on the Saint Clair River next to Canada.
Lounge Daddy Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 ...or in your undies. Esp. the undies. Snow is great, and so is "The Great Lake State".
Spiritual_Arsonist Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Esp. the undies. Snow is great, and so is "The Great Lake State". Snow in your undies is not fun. I love Michigan. We are not like the crazies in Ohio.
dUSt Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Hold out your right hand as if it were a map of Michigan. I would live at right bottom of the thumb. Right on the Saint Clair River next to Canada. Woa. My right hand looks exactly like Michigan... only smaller.... freaky.
Lounge Daddy Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Woa. My right hand looks exactly like Michigan... only smaller.... freaky. Yeeeeesssssssss... And, and if you look at your left hand it looks like Bizarro Michigan! Naw, I am kidding... Ohio is the real Bizarro Michigan.

jasJis Posted December 17, 2003 Author Posted December 17, 2003 All these frozen yankees. You know what's cool about no snow. Going swimming in November, even if your pool isn't heated. Going to an NFL game with your jersey. Not having to spend $150 for a team jacket, the jersey is fine. Wearing sandals all year like Jesus did. (It does get a little cold but I know 2 priests who do that). Not having a state income tax because of all the snow birds who spend their money here all winter.
Azriel Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Hold out your right hand as if it were a map of Michigan. I would live at right bottom of the thumb. Right on the Saint Clair River next to Canada. Michigan rocks. All of us Michganders learned a long time ago that your right hand could function as a Map. So, to figure out where I am, hold up your right hand, I'm about in the middle of the crease where your thumb meets your palm. Hey J - I believe at least half of the population of Michigan over 65 goes to Florida for the Winter. LOL Oh, and snow rocks too. Except driving to work this morning. Yuck.
Lounge Daddy Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 (edited) OK, hold up the right hand... now look at the opposite side of the hand from the Arsonist. Yup, I am living in the Republican side of the state. But it brings me hope knowing there are good Catholics on the "Detroit Side" of Michigan. God Bless you, S. Arsonist. cmotherofpirl Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Snow is a reason to drink HOT CHOCOLATE! :)
