I want to go there! But when I actually went I was like, oh my gosh how beautiful! The picture there is from the choir loft in the back of the church, so hopefully my pictures, which are a little closer up will show the detail of the altar more. Thanks Denise... actually, I'm kind of being drawn more to the PCPAs... lol. I'm kind of shocked though. I never wanted to be a contemplative. And I never felt very strongly called to Franciscan spirituality. But then, I think what I'm starting to love about the Franciscans is that they have a deep love for all of the spiritualities of the Church, whereas some of the others seem to... i don't know, look down on (for lack of a better word) other spiritualities. And I have to admit I'm starting to really love what I'm finding about St. Francis. When I met the PCPAs in SF in January... something really clicked... and of course with Sr. Lauren and you... well, we'll see.

LOL That's what you get for thinking. Seriously, though, I always thought I was to be a Carmelite. And yes, I know what you mean about them having a deep love for ALL the Church and their spiritualities. . . .I think I mentioned this before, but when I went to Ohio and saw the statues of OL of My Carmel, and St Therese . .I and asked Rev. Mother if I was in a Carmel! LOL She laughed and then said that before they were Carmelite, they (the saints) were Catholic, that these saints were worthy of love by all His Church. One of our proposed SOLC Foundations will be the [url="http://cloisters.tripod.com/carmelites/"]Carmelite Nuns of Perpetual Adoration[/url]. She is in her habit and her body [except she may be sitting] and head are turned just like yours. When I saw your picture that is the image that came to mind when I looked at you. I admire their goal to be in union with Christ in all things... but the Eucharist is so close to my heart... I want to devote my life to adoration. I don't know. My mom says that if someone is a contemplative it probably wont matter to much at that point if he was exposed or not. But I think it would to me. [/quote] I think you should check out [url="http://www.ssfpa.org"]the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration[/url]. They are such a great group that loves the Pope, wears the habit, has perpetual Adoration, and participates in apostolates like nursing, teaching, and pastoral work. There are also sisters that stay in the convent and clean, cook, and take care of the garden and do little stuff like that. I highly recommend these sisters. I love them so much!
