I'd go if I thought it was going to be a good movie, but I haven't really heard any good reviews and I think Dan Brown makes up for his mediocre writing ability by publishing stuff that gets people in a hissy fit.

Im torn. I read the book in order to provide an educated attack against it, I feel leaders need to do this. But we do not want to endorse it either. But if we argue it without knowing it then we look like idiots. Like most of us do arguing evolution

I am not sure if they sell bootleg dvds in " a future existing in possibility". If they do, you should much rather pay for that than add to the profits of the movie.

Another alternative is to wait until after the first weekend to see it. The ratings for movies matter most on the first weekend.

I said this a few weeks ago: The best thing to do is to get a bunch of people and go see another movie this Friday. If you don't watch any movie you do nothing to the Da Vinci Code. If you watch another movie it reflects negatively on the movie.

I don't care how lame the other movie is.

No. I won't being watch The Da Vinci Lies. I've not read the book, but I've read so much material on it I feel like I have. I am debating which is more offensive: the charlatan named Dan Brown or the fiction called The Da Vinci Con.

Should we not allow debate with protestants on the debate part of this board, allowing them to post their points. Are you totally against all dialogue and educating ourselves about the beliefs of others and distortions of the faith so that we can rebut them?

I have to disagree. Your porn arguement does not hold. We know what porn is and it is a sin to view it. It is only a sin to embrace a lie about the Church. For those who's faith is not strong enough it is not good for them to go to the DVC. But apologists are a different matter and should use their own discretion.

My faith is totally strong and I "dialogue" all the time. But I have enough commonsense and background on my faith to go against any of the claims the Da Vinci code holds, yet I do not need to see the movie to know and defend my Faith.

Didn't say I was going did I. Are you the magestium with infallible declarations of what is and isn't sin? I heard a very faithful priest a week or so ago, it happened to be that guy on EWTN for life that said there may be reason to go for someone with apologetic interests. I guess you know more about Catholic morality than he does. He did not recommend it for the average Catholic. The money thing does bother me and so that is why I will probably wait to rent it on DVD if I see it.
