Era Might
Cathedral of the Holy Cross, South Boston. It's pretty old. Very gothic like on the exterior. The interior is very wide open kind of, with a big sanctuary. There's a beautiful side altar dedicated to Our Lady, as well. Anthony
Hey guyz. In this, include the name of your Diocese and the name of your Diocese's Cathedral. OK...lemme start... The Cathedral of Saint Patrick in the Diocese of New York is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to in my life! St. Patrick's Cathedral is the largest Catholic Gothic-Style Church in America and takes up a whole New York City block! If anyone happens to visit NYC - please visit the Cathedral! It's an amazing experience. The architecture and art and overall atmosphere is amazing. If you do decide on visiting...here's a tip: go in the morning before the Masses start...then is when you can walk around freely and see the whole entire place...and then wait for the first Mass. Write back with your Cathedrals ppl...just in case I end up in your neck of the woods!
The Diocese of Lincoln, NE: This is a picture of the main altar of the Church. Cathedral of the Risen Christ This is a picture of the outside of the Cathedral of the Risen Christ. It's a modern style church, but the diocese is very strong. Cathedral of the Risen Christ Finally, this is the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. The tabernacle is off to the side in this chapel and usually Mass is celebrated here during the week. jgirl
Nobody has posted any pics of the St. Louis Cathedrals! Both of them are basilicas! The Old Cathedral is gorgeous in the old cathedral kind of way. I like it because there's a lot of pink. The New Cathedral has to be one of the most beautiful Catholic Churches in North America. The whole ceiling is covered with glittering mosaics. When I got confirmed there, I was in awe, and I couldn't stop looking at them.
Much prettier inside before the old altar was removed.
Heehee... It's funny looking at all of these pix. I just assumed that all cathedrals pretty much looked like St. Paul's...
I wish!
