IcePrincessKRS
I hate "reality" TV... but last year I was a total sucker for Rock Star: INXS (I admit, I was a little disappointed when JD won...), and tonight watched (totally caught it by chance!) the first episode of Supernova... I think I'm going to be hooked. lol Anyone else watch or plan to watch it? I'll cry if I'm the only dope around... lol
DAF
Isn't Supernova the name of that dumb british guy from the Disney Channel Zenon movies? I think it was something else though. I think they only said supernova as an exclamation... As for the show: I've seen the ads, but it looks like on of those fad shows that don't interest me. What's the premise? Jaime
You are not the only dope.. I was blown away by Storm Large. She absolutely rocked!!! Then there was a bunch of guys that reaaaaaaaally sucked. (I can't imagine how bad the folks were who didn't make the top 15) Also if Dave Navarro is a part of the show, that's it, I'm done!! I flippin love that guy! He is truly amazing on the guitar. IcePrincessKRS
Sweet! I totally agree, Storm was totally awesome, I kind of liked Patrice, too. But most of the guys were AWFUL. lol I cringed through several of their performances. Although, that one guy, the second to the last... forget his name... he wasn't great, but I kind of felt bad for him because he was the only one they really told was bad. How embarassing. DAF
No I remember! His name was protazoa. I'll log that away somewhere.
IcePrincessKRS
Oh, and I didn't really like the chick who sang the Nickleback song, either.
djc08
I didn't like the chick who sang the nickelback song either. I also didn't think that last guy was all that wonderful.

IcePrincessKRS
I didn't like the chick who sang the nickelback song either. I also didn't think that last guy was all that wonderful.
Yeah, I just don't think her voice is strong enough, at least not for that kind of song/music. I didn't really like or dislike the last guy's singing, but I think he had a certain amount of flair that alot of the others didn't, and that was part of his appeal. When they told him that he had taken the song and made it his own instead of just singing it I kind of understood what they meant. He wasn't my favorite by any means, but I didn't hate him. Oh my word, and the woman who sung the Nirvana song... she was creeeepy. lol Not necessarily bad, just very odd, I couldn't really get into it when she was singing. franciscanheart
You and I were connected or something last night. I was a sucker for the show last time too and I too caught this one by chance! I have to say that I was cringing through A LOT of the performances (yes even one of the girls). I thought it was funny how that one guy (I'll remember their names eventually) got the pitch problem comment and the girl before him WHO WAS OFF LIKE THE WHOLE TIME got nothing but great comments -- probably just because she sang and played. That was dumb. Not a great way to start off for me but meh... I'm still hooked.
IcePrincessKRS
I thought of you when I started this thread! I was hoping you'd be watching, too. lol The girl who was bad and sang and played the guitar was the one who sang the Nickleback song. I think that the really short blonde woman will be gone soon, because frankly, I think she just looks like a mini-version of Pam Anderson, and if I were Tommy Lee I wouldn't want to be in a band with her. lol He didn't look too interested when she was singing. I thought you could really tell when the guys weren't into a particular singer, they all looked bored or something. INXS was better at disguising it. lol rockstar.msn.com you can go there and watch the performances again. And see the "rockers" names, which is what I really am looking for rather that "That chick" or "the guy who..." haha Anyway, hopefully they'll get better with time and there'll be less cringing. :
Jaime
I really hope they have a "reject" show like they do with American Idol. It drives me crazy to see people sing off key. But if I know they aren't going to make it, then its funny. (still painful but funny)
IcePrincessKRS
They probably won't, they didn't last time (unless I totally missed it, in which case that stinks!). Which is kind of a bummer...
robguitar
I usually hate those shows but as I was fixing dinner I was drawn in. Being a semi pro musician myself I have to admit it was way better than I expected. I didn't catch the name of the first girl who opened the show but she was great. What was her name? I didn't think anyone after her was better. The girl who sang the Nickelback song was off key. The guy from Iceland didn't do much for me either. The girl who sang "Somebody to Love" did a great job too. However, If I had the opportunity to play in that environment, on national tv, I'd perform far worse than any of the contestants. IcePrincessKRS
Storm was the first performer (again, she was awesome!). The girl who sang Somebody to Love was Patrice (I think). Jenny was the girl who sang the Nickleback song (yeah, I looked her name up lol). I can't sing at all, nor play any instruments so I can't really point any fingers. I just know what I like and what I don't... and I didn't like several of the singers styles. Like I said, I am not into reality TV AT ALL, but I am just drawn to this show. I really like it.
