IcePrincessKRS
I was looking forward to next week when I saw a commercial that last night was the episode where they vote someone off... I was going to go to bed early, but I decided that I HAD to watch it. lol Matt got booted off last night. He sang "Yellow" the first night, and they told him they liked it but to rock it up next time... so he gets in the bottom 3 and you know what he decides to sing? DURAN DURAN!!!! Now, granted Duran Duran is all good and cool in their own right, I happen to like them... but not when you're singing to impress and try and become lead singer of a band comprised of members from Motley Crue, Guns N' Roses, and Metalica. And ESPECIALLY not after they had put so much emphasis on song selection and how important it was. I gotta say, though, I was really disappointed that Jenny (the off key guitar playing girl) didn't get in the bottom 3...
franciscanheart
Thank you for the update. I missed the show. Oops. And thanks also for the little () notes. Those help.
IcePrincessKRS
hehe You're welcome. I kinda thought I might be the one of the few who caught it last night. I wasn't expecting episodes 2 nights in a row (but thats how they did it last, too, wasn't it? I guess I just forgot), so if I hadn't caught the commercial during the news I'd have missed it, too. lol
Jaime
#$%&* missed the second episode... I'm gonna have to DVR the show!
IcePrincessKRS
Nest episode is Tuesday. And then there'll probably be another elimination show Wednesday. (You can watch parts of the episode online, but for some reason it won't work for me... maybe because I'm using Firefox... unless I'm missing some MSN plugin or something... if you really want to see it you could always try that.) stbernardLT
I got pumped up when I heard they had members of Motley Crue, GNR, and Metallica. Tommy Lee is a good representation of Motley Crue, but Jason Newsted and Gilbey Clarke. Give me a break. That's like having Tito Jackson from the Jackson Five and the sound guy from the Temptations. These guys don't rock, they fell into fame with a band that was already rocking. It's like telling my son I'm going to buy him a horse and I show up with a donkey. There is a bit of a let down. Jaime
But Dave Navarro is in the show! Nobody rocks like Dave. Which may be a bit weird for me to say since I can't stand Jane's Addiction.
IcePrincessKRS
Yeah, but he's only the host. lol In either case, I don't really care. The band doesn't really matter so much to me after the show is over, I just LIKE THE SHOW. lol

DemonSlayer
How heavy is the band gonna be?
IcePrincessKRS
I don't rightly know, they said it wasn't going to be metal, that it would be rock... if you watch sometimes they show clips of the 3 guys playing together, minus a lead singer, of course. lol I think alot of it depends on ho wheavy the lead singer is, ya know? There's one girl, I think her name was Dana? She was really young compared to the rest of them, and she had a really good voice (I thought), but I just didn't think she could cut it for ROCK. Then there was the creepy woman who sang the Nirvana song, and she was definately rock, but she was also rather dark so she'd probably be quite heavy. Then there was Jenny, the Nickleback girl, who was probably rock, but she was terribly offkey. Lukas, the guy who sang Rebel Yell (the last singer on the first episode) was definately rock, but not super heavy.... Storm, the first woman who sang, was rock, but not a heavy dark rock like the Nirvana lady, and she was awesome. It comes on again tonight, you should watch and form your own opinion from that, I guess. lol
ardent1
Was anyone else turned off by the producer proposing to that one chick? I thought her performance was sub-par. Used her sex appeal more than her voice, IMO. I'm not seeing a Marty Casey sort of character yet (who I liked best on RS:INXS) buuuut then again, even he wasn't brilliant until a couple episodes in. I really liked Marty, too. When it got to the end I was really hoping he'd win. One of the other things I really liked about him was that he was one of 6 kids... I guess it was sort of a big family bias. lol
