Paladin D Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 ...with dinner? http://content.health.msn.com/content/arti.../1671_52349.htm (Not sure how true this is) I also heard that when a person consumes a 10oz bottle of soda, that person needs to to drink over 30 glasses of water to neutralize it. And since we cannot drink that much in one day, our body draws the calcium deposits from our bones to help neutralize it.
the_rev Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 (edited) Another good reason I should probably limit my soda intake! Edited January 3, 2004 by the_rev

When one of you go to the doctor's office, can you ask him if this statement is accurate?
MrsFrozen Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 I don't drink soda, I drink pop. Anyhow, I only drink diet pop. When my brothers and I were kids, we were only allowed to have a can of pop a few times a year. I think that's the best way to do it. Poor, poor husband of mine, though.. He was raised on pop and Kool-Aid! :o
track2004 Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 Our coach always advises we don't drink soda during season (track or cross country) because it dehydrates your body and it's cheap energy. The other year giving it up was a New Years resolution which lasted most of the year. I'm going to stop, hopefully for serious, this year, by that I mean none during season and only occasionally during the rest of the year.
the_rev Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 Is it to late to put this into my new years resolution also?
littleflower+JMJ Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 coke is a No-No. but i still drink it sometimes......... :leave:
NewReformation Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 Personally, I can't stand any type of soda.
Carrie Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 I don't drink soda either. I'm a water kinda girl. I drink 9 glasses of water a day :)
mulls Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 i quit it. i'm trying to get cut up, and that's the worst thing for you. though i still succumb to an occasional temptation.
cathgirl Posted January 4, 2004 Posted January 4, 2004 I  Coca Cola!! I usually only have pop once a week. I try to control myself.
JuCa Posted January 4, 2004 Posted January 4, 2004 ahhhh....no more cokes for me. I know they are bad for me...but they are so good! I'm a coke-a-holic. Another good reason not to drink cokes....my sisters friend got a coke from a fountain machine and when she took a drink a cochroach went into her mouth!!!! TRUE STORY..not making it up. How gross is that! She was drinking a dark coke(as in pop, soda...i call it all coke) so she couldn't see it slide into her cup. And fountain drinks taste the best...booooo...makes me feel sick just thinking about it :ill:
Janana8706 Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 i say i don't drink much, but thats in comparison of a few years ago, when i drank one a day. I do drink a lot more water, and ocasionally milk. I only drink soda on weekends (unless i'm at a party one or two), at resturants (fastfood, when we go to a sit down stay kinda one, my mom makes us get water cuz its cheaper), or at friends houses, so to me thats not much at all.
VeraMaria Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 when i was little, all the way up to the time i was 12, soda was only on Christmas and New Year. that's why it was special
Aloysius Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 i drink pop all the time. frankly, i don't care... it gives me something to suffer giving up in Lent... pop ain't bad so it's good to drink all the time then give it up for lent, and that's my 2million cents
