<_< Ok.
I am airing my beef because I know some of you girls out there are too shy to air it first.
I hate "skinny Jeans".

Unless you weight 12 pounds and are 6'2" they do not look good, they make your butt look big and they are a sin against modesty though I am not really sure how, since they make you look worse..... :idontknow:

But Worse they are a sin against fashion. So please, please join me in Prayer that skinny jeans be eliminated from the face of the earth and that Express will open up a store in Prague.

CAn I get an AMEN?

1. Express is owned by a parent company that supports Planned Parenthood -I will not shop there.

2. I love the skinny jean (and I am not a skinny girl, so I don't wear one personally). But, some girls just are and hey Audrey Hep is so Classic! I think they look very feminine (as far as pants are concerned).

3. Somehow, women in Europe (generally speaking) pull it off much better than most women in the US... we'll see, I anticipate they won't be around long ;)

I know. I am in europe..and th reason european Women pull it off is because they have fewer children, smoke like chimneys and in general are skinnier. Must just be better genes(pardon the pun).

I feel like such a fatty here, there are soo many tall slim women. Yikes.

maybe I'm just old (ok I am just old) but I do not understand why women can't get a pair of jeans that aren't low riders. Most women walking around look like they work as plumbers.

I've never seen any woman tall, short, skinny or otherwise look good in todays jeans.

Hey now, I look smokin' hot in my jeans. :P:

(I don't like skinny jeans, either, Balthazor.)

I was just going to say that! And hot stuff's actually seen me in jeans! >:(

:P:

But yeah I don't like skinny jeans. Mainly because I am not even close to being skinny. Not even in the same neighborhood, or subdivision even. I don't wear skinny jeans, or low-riders either, for that matter.

He was probably too blinded by your beauty to notice that you were wearing jeans ;)

That is EXACTLY it!

That really irks me too. And the ones that are not below your butt (I'll just hope no guys pop in here) are too high, there is no happy medium. Either they're high enough to be a bra or they are hanging at your knees. I just wear skirts now whenever I can, or wear an extra-long t-shirt that comes down over them.

Can I just say something, no guy I have ever seen ( exemting some of the Australian men I have seen, they're special, though   ) looks good in skin tight jeans, the movie 'West Side story' is my proof.
Carry on.

 But honestly, you can get jeans that aren't low riders... none of mine are. You just have to look very hard: in expesive stores and in second hand stores in which you can find last year's expensive store's jeans. :ninja:

I know what you mean about the too high.

I have one pair of jeans that is just right, and I am already mourning the day when they will wear out and I won't have them anymore. Finding a pair of jeans that looks good and feels good is a happy, happy thing.

Yeah, too low is bad....but too high can be just as bad.
I mean who wants to tuck their boobs into thier jeans? My jeans can only handle one set of cleavage at a time.

That is why I like Express....because their pants fit my butt. And the rest of me might I add and they are not so low that you can see any part of me that I can't see.

Aren't there any good Catholics who own clothes lines? You know, with nice, covering shirts and shorts that dont look like bikini bottoms and stuff, If I had any talent I would make my own clothes.

Posted

Do make my own sometimes.
Last year I bought two really poorly cut gaucho pants in the biggest sizes that I could find. They had really cool material though grey with metalic pinstripe.
I made them into a vest and a pencil skirt from some old 1950's patterns, except I cut the skirt to just below the knee.
Actually in zara and such i am seeing some of the older dress dtyles come out, you know the Jackie O type ones.
They are more covering and classy.

I love retro fashions, they are normally much more modest, but I still wish there were more dresses out there that are not, you know, prom dresses.

Just as a part of my rant...
I go to hockey games a lot, and some of the girls there ( my dad calls them Puck Bunnies, I dont know why) dress so imodestly! And it is cold in there. They wear these really tight jeans, really high heels and low cut tops. What's wrong with a sweater and sneakers? Maybe it's just because I am looking to the religious life.

Ditto. Express is my favorite place to buy jeans. Its one of the few more expensive places I'm willing to shell out cash for. The jeans aren't low riders in the sense that anyone wearing them should apply for a plumbers job, but they are low enough so they set juuust right. I only own 2 pairs of jeans that aren't Express, and granted they are pretty freakin' sweet (otherwise I never would have bought them), but you just can't find that often enough. When I find a good brand that works with my figure I stick with it.

Oh, I love my Express pants. the only problem is that they only carry short pants in black and grey, so every other pant I buy there has to be tailored.

Posted

you got one - AMEN!

When I heard leggings was coming back in fashion. My immediate thought was "what type of fashion is that? You can't call that fashion" it's like going to the gym outside.

I seriously want to start my own fashion line. I LOVE fashion (modest fashion, not that carp clothing Runway has). Someday. ;) I plan all my outfits days ahead, *cough* yeah. Anyway. All my pants are so big for me, but I'm not bothering to buy new ones until I lose all my fat, I think I'm digressing. I'm dreading looking for new pants though, either it's too big in the back or too tight. It STINKS. I'll have to look at Express, I've never shopped there before....

Skirts rule.
