misereremi Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I love spending time in the Marble Arch Tyburn shrine.... My sis stays there one night a week. The Tyburn nuns are fantastic. Prayers for them always
puellapaschalis Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I've taken Confirmation groups to Tyburn on trips as part of their catechesis; we were able to see visit the crypt, shown round by one of the community. Then we risked our lives (I did get parental consent forms.. ) visiting the actual site of the Tyburn Tree in the middle of a road junction. Tyburn is a really special place. Love and prayers, PP
Jennifer Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I agree that Tyburn Marble Arch is a very special place, particularly the Crypt which houses relics of the English Martyrs. It is so peaceful inside ...one forgets that it is the middle of London.
Tom Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I also love Tyburn. It's fantastic to know you can always go to adoration there when in Central London. I've taken quite a few friends there in the past, all of whom have been very moved by it. I'd be tempted to join them if I was the right gender.
puellapaschalis Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Wouldn't it be an interesting mix of weird and cool if a whole bunch of European Discerning PMmers "randomly" happened to visit Tyburn at the same time to pray.... PP

PP
Yes PP! Randomly as in Wednesday eves? (I'm not discerning a vocation, though..) God bless Btw, Tom...I think I've seen you about
puellapaschalis Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Ach, we can take the wider definition of the word "discernment" So long as there aren't photos. Or rather, no photos of me PP
Tom Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006
Wouldn't it be an interesting mix of weird and cool if a whole bunch of European Discerning PMmers "randomly" happened to visit Tyburn at the same time to pray.... PP
That would indeed be rather fab - when were you thinking?
Btw, Tom...I think I've seen you about
That's entirely possible. Are you by any chance a friend of Leo's (as in wastingtimewithgod.com)?
puellapaschalis Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 (edited) Well, being expat and all, the soonest I could do without being dishonest about taking time away from work and so would be end Feb/beginning March if we're talking about the middle of the week. Weekends, however....that could be something more flexible, but after Christmas, because it's all just too crazy before then. (I am, however, really quite serious about the no-photos thing ) PP Edited December 2, 2006 by puellapaschalis
