homeschoolmom Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006
I wanted to get a turtle and name him Tertullian, even though the early theologian by that name separated from the Church. Never happened... mom shot that idea down. As for using people names for animals, I think it'd be funny to have a dog named Jeff. I think it's a tail on the costume.
Jeff's a great name...
It's a doggy suite, there fake arms. But so CUTE
Yeah, I know they're fake arms... is that a mic he's "holding"?
MRSannie Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 HEY! Our dachshund (miniature, piebald, long-haired) has knitted sweaters that my mother-in-law made, and she needs them because it is so cold here. And my m-i-l has 6 kids who are grown, had 30 foster babies over a 10 yr period and now has no one to kinit sweaters for because her kids don't like 'those sweaters' for their designer babies! Nella LOVES her sweaters and we appreciate them!

Norseman82 Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 My cocker spaniel's name is Gale, but I named her after the train stop (Galewood) that she hopped on the train at.
philosophette Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 I work at an animal shelter... and we have 1500 animals a year... so we need some creative names... ***Disclaimer.... I have not named these dogs AND I ALWAYS tell the adopters to PUH-LEEZE rename them!*** --- Sweet Pee ---- Pollack (which everyone pronounced Pole-lack.....) --- Nuage (never was sure if it was "New Age" or Nu-age with a flat "a")... yep.... but my favorite is a Husky named Antartica... I think that is a great name...

Balthazor Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 lol That is right I also had a Chicken named Steve!!!
MRSannie Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 My hubby raised champion chickens! He had one named 'crookbeak' who he had to put down due to a crooked beak and potential starvation. Sad, sad story. Good, good eatin'.
God Conquers Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Nuage is "cloud" in fench... so it makes sense if the dog is grey or white. And pole-ack is the greatest pet name EVER! hahaha My family's dog is a Llhsa Apso. They're from Tibet. So we named her: The Dalai Lhasa But we call her dalai for short.
isilzha Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 I have 2 dogs, one named Ali the other Coco.
