I don't drink, but I personally think the law should be done away with. Or at least lowered to when kids are learning to drive...

haha... there are mods themselves who like to cause ruckuses (rucki? mwahaha) for "promoting underage drinking"

there's a big moral debate. I personally think it a frivilous law no more binding than if there was a law which said I wasn't allowed to eat oranges until a certain age. but that's another debate for another time and another headache for another mod who has to deal with the fireworks that go with it

pssh! I'm not 19, yet my parents let me drink a little here and there.

I'm going to have to show my dad that article. :P:

Well in Texas you can, but not in Virginia.

Though I think the legal drinking age should be lowered to 18, I do not see the value of it being kept at 21. The younger you start, the more responsible you will become later on. That's why we have all these alcohol related incidents in the United States, all the hype surrounds the ability to *finally* drink at the age of 21, that most people go overboard with it.

I think women should not be allowed to drive. There would be fewer accidents and far fewer deaths. ITs our moral responsibility to ban themn from the streets.

Teens cause more accidents than middle aged women.

WOW!
Not until 25... lets see that would mean for me that I would not have gone to college, since most of my jobs I had to drive to , or actually were driving jobs and the nearest town from where I live is miles and miles away with no public transport available.

WOW.

I would still not be able to drive.

WOW.

You guys are REALLY harsh. You obviously must live in some utopias with lots of jobs and perfect public transport.

(from the girl who has been driving farm equiptment since she was 12)

women are involved in more accidents, but men's accidents are typically much worse.

SO the czechs, who drink beer with everything, the men have a 72.5 year average life expectancy.
American males have 75 year average life expectcancy.
According to the CIA worldfact book last updated Dec 12 2006.

I am gonna say that this study is bogus. I think that it was conducted by a bunch of guys who wanted an excuse to drink 4 beers a day.

I would get absolutely nothing done if I drank that much. Even one beer a day would seriously inhibit productivity.

Men live longer on four beers a day, Catholic uni researchers find
Men who drink up to four beers - and women who drink two glasses - per day live longer, a study by researchers at an Italian Catholic university has found.

Eurekalert reports that study performed by the Research Laboratories of the Catholic University of Campobasso in Italy confirms the beneficial effects that moderate consumption of alcohol has on our health.

The study provides further evidence that alcohol, when consumed in moderation, reduces the risk of death, and not just that due to cardiovascular disease

The research, published in the American journal Archives of Internal Medicine, clearly shows that drinking in moderation has beneficial effects on health.

The key word is moderation, the researchers say, noting that their study also confirms that excessive consumption of alcohol is absolutely harmful, and indeed increases the risk of death.

"Our data shows that consumption of little amounts of alcohol leads to a reduction of mortality up to 18%," says Augusto Di Castelnuovo, lead author of the study. "But after a certain number of glasses things radically change: who drinks too much not only loses this advantage, but increases his own risk of death in relation to the amount of alcohol consumed".

The study also highlights significant differences between men and women. Whereas men report a beneficial effect after consuming a maximum of 2-4 units (with one unit equalling a glass of wine or beer), for women alcohol's protection disappears after just two glasses a day.

However, the study also found that the protection for American men provided by moderate consumption of alcohol is lower than that observed for Europeans while for women the situation is substantially the same both on both continents.

The researchers speculate that the difference may be due to the fact that Europeans tend to drink wine rather than other alcoholic beverages and to do so over a meal - both habits which differ from those of Americans. On the other hand, women on both continents tend to consume alcohol is roughly the same way.

"The core of this study is not just about alcohol," says Giovanni de Gaetano, director of the Research Laboratories at the Catholic University.

Hello people, this is probably my first and last post here. Like many of you, I started to laugh because of this light topic. Let me say this, light topics are what the enemy of our souls want. Drinking a few beers will make you live longer.

<img src="http://www.mawebpublishing.com/myspace/image/fishbabylon.jpg">

You guys will probably rip on me showing this, but I don't care. You may want to believe in a Religion, but as for me and my house, we will serve the most high.

<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dagon">Dagon was worshiped by drunkenness and acts of violence and rape against non-Philistines.</a>

They want you to 'worship' your god, because your god is worshiped through drunkenness.

And lets be honest, the Catholic Religion is also very violent throughout history, because that's how the leaders worship 'their' god.

And the rape part, I don't want to bring up what some 'men of the cloth' have done to young boys.

I'm not saying all Roman Catholics are godless people who do these things, but there is a lot of corruption in the Roman Catholic Church.

I'll be honest, the reason I'm not Roman Catholic, and really anti-religious though I believe in the sinless sacrifice of the Christ for the salvation of all mankind, is there are so many practices that hint towards paganism that I would rather go it alone (Praise God there are others like me) than to be thrown into the hellfire. As Jesus said, if your eye offends thee, it is far better you pluck out your eye and go into heaven than to remain whole and go into the hellfire.

So, I will work out my salvation with fear and trembling, as the Bible tells us to do.

hmmm......

Thank you for the fish head pic it was very ..... interesting.

Perhaps you should hang around here a while and take your ideas to the debate board.

OH an by the way. to clear up any confusion, we do not worship anything through drunkeness. Drunkeness is infact forbidden as a mortal sin in the Catholic Faith.
