I just viewed a private screening of this movie, Bella, last night. It was absolutely amazing and truly bella! The movie won the People's Choice award at the 2006 Toronto Film Festival. When it comes out, be sure to support these Catholics (producer, actor, etc.) in their effort to make movies with substance. You won't be disappointed. Check out the trailer at Bella.

it looks amazing.

anyone know when it's coming out?

They need a better trailer. I had to read the synopsis to understand what was going on. After reading the synopsis, I don't totally understand the movie.

the director and main actor are Catholic :)

my question is availability.. some of these movies only end up in a handful of theaters

It's apparently a pro-life film.

Its so great to see this thread! The producer/writer is actually my old youth minister, Leo Severino, and i know them well as well as the main actor eduardo. I had a chance to see a private screening of the film and then discussed it with Leo for quite a while later that night at my house. It is one of the best movies i have ever seen and the people behind this are some of the most faith filled people i have ever met in my life. If you have any questions about the film i may be able to answer some. The number one thing that they need people to do is to go to the theaters on opening weekend and fill the seats, i'll let you know more as it happens.

It's definitely not gonna released in Australia probably.

I don't think they've set a release date yet...I thought I heard spring 2007 but I could be wrong.

This is a great movie, I saw a sneak preview here in Chicago a few weeks ago and I was truly blown away. While you could say its a prolife or Catholic movie, overall it is really just a great a story about love. It has a universal message but will obviously come across as prolife to us Catholics.
