If we are going to have a body and a spirit in heaven, why can't God resurrect pets even if they do not have a soul?

Kilroy the Ninja Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 I believe I once read an arguement that went along the lines of every living creature has a soul, because that is the spark that indicates life, but that only human souls went to heaven or hell primarily because they had knowledge of good and evil. :ph34r:

Only people have Rational souls (and thats why only people go to heaven). All other living things--animals, plants, etc., have vegetative souls. I don't think I can go into this much more without doing some research, though, because I'm dredging up freshman year Theology. I'd need to go back and refresh my memory to really discuss the concept I just tossed out.... maybe next time I'll keep my trap shut...

I'm allergic to them, so I have a lame excuse. I am a dog person. My husband likes cats, but since he can't have one b/c of my allergies, he wants pet ducks or geese. I told him the day he gets birds I'm going out and getting my dog. And I do mean he wants them as PETS, like, he'd train them to follow him around and stuff. He's done it before.

musturde Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 My mom used to love cats, when she was 5 or 6 she chased this big cat around and it scratches her in the face. She had to go to the hospital. She doesn't like them as much now (but doesn't hate them)(at least I don't think).
