SJRod55
I think home-schooled children should be held to the same standards as public-schooled kids, but I agree this is a bit much.
Many times the HS kids will exceed the public school standards. Many parents are afraid to venture into Home Schooling because of actions such as these even if they are in far off lands. With on line education now being so accessible the curve will sharply rise for HS children. There are some studies done which even highlight that it is cheaper to HS ALL students by giving them a computer at home and assigning them virtual world teachers. There are no expensive school buildings and facilities to maintain etc etc

catholicinsd
Kinda off topic but how do HS kids take stanardized tests?
homeschoolmom
What do you mean "how do"...? You mean who administers it etc? Each state (in the US) has its own laws regarding testing.

homeschoolmom
I have a tester come to my home and administer it. I've also been a tester for other people's kids. I could give my kids the test myself, but I don't want to.

SJRod55
Best to have 'external' tester - better for the kids too.
