I've been looking for some orders who do the Montfort consecration to Mary. I know of these:
Servants of the Lord and Virgin of Matara
Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist
Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Do you know of any others?

Thank you!
Bernadette

I believe this new order does - Order of the Sacred & Immaculate Hearts of Jesus and Mary They are not an "Order" yet, but an Association of the Faithful in the diocese of Steubenville, OH.

If you were interested in them, I would ask about this. They follow the spirit of St. John Eudes, and I don't see anything on their site about the Montfort consecration actually, but somehow I am thinking they do .. because it's pretty right along their lines of spirituality.

Thank you both. I'll look into the Order of Sacred and Immaculate Hearts and there is a lot of info on the past posts - need to look through all that. Thanks!
I have another question though. Do you know of any sisters whose apostolate is media related? I know of only a few.

Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary do both. Their spirituality is Montfortian, and they have a printery. Leaflet Missal Company carries some of their reprints.

Daughters of St. Paul and Franciscans of the Immaculate do media work. Of course, there's OLAM.

HTH.

Hello! Here is part of a letter from the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate who consecrate themselves to Mary via the Kolbe method. I asked her what the difference was between Monfort and Kolbe. She said this:

"Basically the difference of the consecration lies in what manner we consecrate ourselves to Her. In Montfort's consecration one becomes a slave of Our Lady. You know very well that despite being a slave, which means that in some ways one may not be free, (but) a slave always retains his or her will. At times, a slave can still possess things. With Kolbe's consecration, we the Franciscans of the Immaculate, *** (can't read her handwriting!) to become an instrument in the Immaculate hands of Our Lady. An instrument as you well know, cannot do anything unless somebody picks it up and does something with it. As a pen, it could not do anything by itself unless somebody picks it up and uses it for writing. As an instrument, we do not have a will of our own. The only will we have is to will the same will God or Our Lady for the matter, wills for us. As an instrument we could not possess anything as we are the thing that is possessed. We are the possessions of Our Lady. I hope I have made it clear to you."

There you go,
Bernadette

The Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate have such beautiful habits! First I thought they looked rather different, with the 2 different blues, but no, they are soo beautiful! I love how the veil is so long in the back! (okay, getting a little off topic, but thanks! I wish they had a contemplative branch ^_^ Of course, you don't join an order just because you love the habit  )

The novices of the Sisters of Reparation consecrate themeselves to Mary but I don't know if it's the St. Louis de Montforte consecration.

The Sister Servants of the Eternal Word and the Dominican Nuns in Marbury make the DeMontfort Consecration. Really, most communities (especially monastic) will make the DeMontfort consecration together at least once a year I think.

Mother Teresa's Order (Missionaries of Charity) do it, or did it. As well as De Montfort's order The Daughters of Wisdom.

I can't seem to find anything about the Daughters of Wisdom. Do they have a website? I only know of the men's order that Saint Louis founded and that they have a link to a little info about the Daughters, but that's it. I tried emailing them a couple times, but no luck.

It looks like the Daughter of Wisdom have, unfortunately, gone crazy.

They have a retreat house called "Wisdom House", located in CT, which has (among other things) a labyrinth:
Wisdom House is home to a classical 7-circuit labyrinth which is open for guests. If you would like to visit please call and reserve a time to come and walk the labyrinth. A donation of $5. per person is suggested. We would be happy to provide an introduction in the event that you or your group would be interested in an overview and some history. The labyrinth is best appreciated in daylight hours and since it is outdoors, weather is a consideration.

That's bad news for Catholics.

(They also have an indoor labyrinth: )

Also, no habits. This is one of the sisters: .

And here is their retreat schedule: http://www.wisdomhouse.org/program/calendar.html :sadder:

I mean, these things are just skimming the surface. They are waaay out there.

Please, let us be cautious not to judge too harshly. We strive to foster charitable, helpful conversations here on PM. I could easily pick out some one-liners from their website that would show they have not, in fact, "gone crazy."

Okay, let me rephrase that:

In my opinion, they have gone crazy. As an Order, they are not following Church teaching. That is crazy. We could have a debate about this, but I wouldn't be doing the right thing if I complimented an Order that wasn't living Church teaching. To spread the Faith also means to clear up misunderstandings about it, and some people on PM might not know that such things as the labyrinth are absolutely not okay.

God bless you! :)
