Old_Joe
It seems to me that the ideas of 'turning the other cheek' and 'admonishing the sinner' can be in conflict at times. For example, if one person were to commit an injustice against another, would it better for that person to stand-up against the injustice or to turn the other the cheek? Pio Nono
JMJ 2/26 - First Monday of Lent Old Joe, 'Turning the other cheek' is a form of admonishing the sinner when the sinner has offended you personally. Jesus' crucifixion was, in a sense, a form of admonishment, which St. Longinus (the man who speared Jesus in the heart) understood when he said, "Truly, this man was the Son of God." Other times, when I am not offended personally, I can admonish without turning the other cheek. Hope this helps. Yours, Pio Nono
