EcceNovaFacioOmni
Why don't we... or do we? Is it appropriate to ask Abraham or Moses or Jacob's intercession?
Thy Geekdom Come
It is the Tradition of the Church that the righteous Jews of the Old Testament were placed in the "Limbo of the Fathers" (distinct from the theoretical concept of "limbo") to await Jesus' coming to them. It is tradition that when Jesus descended to the dead, He preached the Gospel there to them and released them to heaven (another tradition is that Adam and Eve entered heaven first). As such, all the righteous people of the Old Testament are saints by default, although this terminology is usually avoided, probably to avoid the confusion arising from the incorrect assumption that saints are only New Testament figures. In light of that, it is appropriate and right to pray for the intercession of the Old Testament Patriarchs, Prophets, et al.
