homeschoolmom Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 HSSon's First Holy Communion is today.... The First Communicant will be wearing a black suit and tie, blue shirt and a cross tie tack. It is also reported that he will be wearing black socks and dress shoes (not the Heeleys that were previously requested). A bath is being taken for this most special occasion-- even though it goes against the tradition/moral code of this 8-year old boy.... Ice cream luncheon will be consumed after the mass....

goldbug16 Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Congratulations to the First Communicant! What a joy!
homeschoolmom Posted April 28, 2007 Author Posted April 28, 2007 So, why is it that when HSdaughter made her first communion... and she was wearing her little summery dress, it snowed. And today, when HSson is in a black suit, it's roasting... Same time of year.

littleflower+JMJ Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Wow thats really neat! Congrats on the first communion for HSson's sacrament. I remember my first communion day really well. It was awesome! I'm sure you guys had a great one with ice cream! Yummy!
Sojourner Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 It made me think of my first communion too ... except since I did mine as an adult I didn't get to wear the pretty dresses. The kids all looked so adorable! One thing I thought was cool was that they had all the families sit in separate rows, and go up and then all receive together, standing around their little First Communicant. It was really beautiful!
journeyman Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 May God Bless the entire HSFamily (Checks catechism, thinking ice cream was not mentioned once . . . I would have noticed) Time goes so quickly . . . it won't be long now until confirmation . . .
homeschoolmom Posted April 29, 2007 Author Posted April 29, 2007 I know... I was trying to count out the years to see if HSdaughter and HStot will have confirmation and first Communion in the same year. Once I figured yes, and once I figured no. It will depend upon when HStot starts kindergarten-- he's a Sept. birthday.
Sojourner Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 great now I have "Sunrise, Sunset" from Fiddler on the Roof stuck in my head
