Should Different Denominations Evangelize Other Denominations?

I would like to hear about this?

Do you think people of any denomination, including the Catholic church, should evangelize someone who is a Christian in another denomination?

I believe it can be an offense to the person who is witnessing, and that the entire church world should be trying to evangelize backslidders who haven't comitted themselves to serving Jesus Christ in any denomination.

What are people's opinions?

If you are aware of a truth that can substantially effect the lives of others, you are obligated to share it with them in the way they are able and willing to hear it. Otherwise, you are clearly selfish about important things that can benefit society. If you believe your faith qualifies as one of these truths, you should share it with everybody else in the manner that is most beneficial for them. If you believe your faith does not qualify as one of these truths, then you should reconsider whether your faith has any value to you at all.

The problem with evangalization is twofold: 1. People take the process of sharing too personally; 2. People are foolish enough to believe they already know everything they need to know.

With regard to the first point, faith is a very personal relationship between a person and God. If you are sharing your faith, you are simply encouraging the other person to realize how valueable a similar relationship should be to them with God. But ultimately, its their relationship, not yours. Don't take offense simply because the person you evangelize doesn't have you baptise them that instant. You've pointed their attention to God, let them and God work it out from there. If you take offense at someone's unresponsiveness to your words about your faith, then you're pushing, which will only put you between them and God. Relax. Be enthusiastic about sharing the beautiful wonders of our faith, but let God take care of His people's hearts.

With regard to the second point, people should show a little more realistic humility and genuine appreciation. Whether you're the Pope or not, you should be willing to hear what God is doing in other people's lives. God used a donkey to give prophecy in the Old Testament -- a rather strange way to hear the Voice of God. Isn't it much more personal to you if He speaks to you through another human being, even if they may be someone you wouldn't normally see as an inspiration to holiness? Your whole life is meant to be an academic lesson plan from God and everyone you meet is meant to be your teacher. Pay attention. There is always something to learn at the core of what someone says -- that deep message God intended just for you. And don't feel obligated to respond in the way the other person wants. Again, your faith is personal between you and God. Do appreciate the good they are trying to bring to you, though. Imagine what the world would be like if everyone was selfish about the good things in life? Imagine how isolated and alone you would feel being ignorant of all the wonderful things they have come to know, but refused to share with you!

Let's all just chill out and realize we're in this world together for the same reason. Sharing is not a bad thing, so relax and enjoy!
