High schoolers sometimes need a better nudge to show in a real and present way how God can relate to them. God bless- LGLG
VeniteAdoremus Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I think they could have done without the shiny white clothes and some of the other props, but I loved it. It gave me the same feeling as the first time I watched Narnia. "You're not alone."
Ziggamafu Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 It seemed cheesy. Then more cheesy. Then dorky. Then...genius. That last little bit is what made it for me. Thanks so much for the link!

prose Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Wow. It started so cheesy and I was thinking that you were all crazy. I almost cried by the end. Thanks.
God Conquers Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I did this skit a a couple of huge outreaches this year with LOTS of success.

Has anyone heard the Lifehouse song "Simon"? I think it would make a good skit, too.
N/A Gone Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I have performed many lifehouse songs when i was an evangelical. Such great music.

One time I even won tickets to a concert in Dallas, which I was going to travel to, but they canceled it
fides quarens intellectum Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 they just showed this to the teen group last Sunday at church - the teens were like, "yeah, that's nice," and the parents and core team members (except me) were all crying.

It may be a fear of their reputations. Even when i was into my faith in high school, i would feel weird about crying for stuff like that.
ardent1 Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 HAHAHA...oh Lauren, your Lifehouse lovesickness is so amusing. And yes, I got really teary-eyed when we watched this on youtube.
Theologian in Training Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 (edited) That was beautiful. I saw a version of this done with the song "Total Eclipse of the Heart" as well (they have it on Godtube but I don't like it). And, was it me, or was anyone else impressed by the fact that she was able to take so much abuse and not get hurt? I mean that literally, not figuratively as per the skit. Theoketos Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 I showed it to my highschool students who, with only a few exceptions, are fornicators, drunkereds, liars, dropouts, cheaters, seniors, and generally the best material for saints. Out of all my students only one said it was not worth watching. None said that I should not show it to the next class. N.B. I give my life for these students, and think very highly of them, I am just not blind to their sins. I am a worse sinner then all of them. I was just making a point that in my experience this is an appealing video to a wide range of students.

It looks like she is really getting beat up. No, as for those of you that have shown this video, is it in higher quality somewhere so that it can be projected?
