i have a friend who is hoping that our Diocese will send him there to finish his eduaction after he completes his Master's as he prepares for the priesthood. i hear nothing but great things about MSM!
The seminary is absolutely great! One of the top, most orthodox in the nation. You're friend will love it if he gets sent there!

The Mount went through some tough years (didn't they all?) during the 70s and 80s, but she's really pulling her act together now, as can be told by Newman's assesment. We have a wonderful Catholic Identity office that is really trying to bring the Mount back to being truly Catholic, rather than Catholic in name only. She's a great school and definitely on the rise.

The only down side is that the theology department is very much staffed by those who were taught in the 70s and 80s, so the theology is very weak. It's slowly changing. I wish it'd change a wee bit faster, though. I'm a philosophy and theology double major. The philosophy department, on the other hand, is superb! One of the best out there. The seminary sends all of its Pre-Theologate seminarians to study philosophy on the University side, so I'm often in class with seminarians. I suppose it helps having bishop oversight of the department. ;)

Does anyone know of any quality Catholic colleges that offer distance learning? My husband is in the Air Force and we move around; I'm not in a position to complete my degree right now, but would love to go to a Catholic college. Right now, we're set to go to Maryland (so they tell us, nothing is concrete for a few more months) and if that happens I'm going to Bowie University to finish my B.A. in news journalism. I also want to get a degree in Theology, ideally...

That is the same with Belmont--there are a few earlier threads in the Phorum about how Vatican II deeply hurt some of the higher levels of learning in this regard. I'm so glad that students like us are jumping on board with the initative to bring these schools back to where they should always be in God's eyes!

Steubie does a distance degree in Theology, I think. My DRE is working on her MA in Theology via the distance program.

My future home is on the list.

Steubie has a great Masters in Theology distance program. I've had many of the Professors that teach for the MA distance program. Some of them are pretty tough, especially Minto, but once you master him you'll be fine for any other Prof lol
